Where do you manage to get the info of A*/A of the Mother Tongue in Chinese of RMPS of 2007? How about any 2008 information? I been trying to find like others subjects like English, Maths & Science.
Hi Titank!
From their website.
We are also pleased that our Mother Tongue Department has achieved quality passes (A*/A) of 79.0%, a very good improvement from 69.6% in 2007.
So, it means, they achieved 69.6% in 2007, and 79.0% in 2008. If, based on this achievement, the standard doesn't seem too bad because we are talking about A*/A grades only.titank:
Congratulations! :celebrate:Now have a real concern on Chinese of RVPS, seem they accepting certain percentage of foreigners & therefore the standard of Chinese result from RVPS I have doubt. Ha..ha just received the PV letter from RMPS , ha..ha need to think which to enroll on 20/21 July 09.
What about RVPS? Have you received the letter from them? I don't think you need to be overly worried about their Chinese standard, right, given the above statistics. From 69.6% in 2007 to 79.0% in 2008 - almost 10% increment! What more can you ask for?

Sorry I was confused & thought that was RMPS Chinese A*/A. Oh RVPS told me there won't be any letter, they would have a record for those that did PV. Estimate 30 PV's they have recruited in my batch.
Hi All,
Is it when a kid in P3 they have to stay back for ECA? That mean minimum 1 day out from 1 week have to stay back take part ECA.
:?
On top of that, if every subjects like English, Maths, Science & Chinese the teacher require to stay back almost every day for remedial lesson then going to be crazy? 5 out of 5 in a week.
Everyday have to stay back that makes taking the school bus not worth, pay for 2 way where in the end use 1 trip?? Worst we as working parents where have the time to go school like 3pm or 4pm pick them up? That why being think RMPS would be a better choice in terms of transport mode. RVPS requires a bit of walking to the bus stop estimate 10 minutes. :!: :!: -
titank:
Hi TitankOh that mean RVPS would have 119 Places & RMPS have 86 places. Therefore in Phase 2B would be as follow:
RVPS (Phase 2B) = 60 places
RMPS (Phase 2B) = 43 places.
Assuming each school have 30 vacancies & 0 grassroot leaders, then at Phase 2C would be as follow:
RVPS (Phase 2C) = 60-30+59 = 89 places
RMPS (Phase 2B) = 43-30+43 = 56 places.
Based on the above, do you think that both schools will conduct balloting for those within 2km? RMPS has the least remaining vacancies after P2A2 in Bukit Merah area. -
RVPS (Phase 2C) = 60-30+59 = 89 places
RMPS (Phase 2C) = 43-30+43 = 56 places
From what I analyse, RMPS cut off balloting would be either 1Km or 1-2Km.
As for RVPS, balloting very likely at more than 2Km. -
Anyone here planning on CHIJ (kellock)? The take up rate is pretty low as of now. What is the past statistics on phase 2B where church affiliation comes in. Understand that they don’t in PV.

Hi titank,
titank:
My friend's girl is this case above. She's from CHIJ (Kellock's) and her parents living beyond 2km, she had to take school bus.Is it when a kid in P3 they have to stay back for ECA? That mean minimum 1 day out from 1 week have to stay back take part ECA.

Every Tues/Wed (forgot which day) got her CCA and dun forget her classroom duties. Then she got remedial for all subjects (P5 student), if I'm not wrong Friday is the only day she gets to come back slightly earlier.
Everyday reach home around 3-4pm. -

Hi winth,
Wow finally found someone with the worst scenario example to share. In that case maybe would consider RVPS as heard there are additional bus trip for those who stay back until 3pm or 4pm.
Can be possibility always activate our parents (Old Folks) to go school pick them? Wait they complain head pain, leg pain, muscle pain bla bla wow going to be hell of nitemare for me.
So u trying for RVPS? Guess balloting at more than 2km would have quite good chance where like probability of 80% like last year. Good luck to you. -
Hi,
I think all school bus service offers additional bus trips.
It’s to cater to upper pri sch students who has to stay back. Just that my friend’s girl utilises this service almost everyday.
Another friend’s girl also from RMPS, had to take school bus too. Didn’t hear her complain about no school bus leh… But this girl not so bad, only stay back about 3 out of 5 days.
Conclusion: Be prepared to pay extra if we need to utilise school buses when child goes to upper primary. -

Hi Raynreg!
According to last year's statistics, about 68 registered in Phase 2B. So, based on current intake so far, there are 66 places for Phases 2B and 2C each. So, assuming 68 register in Phase 2B this year, there will still be 66 places left for Phase 2C.
So far, the take-up rate for CHIJ Kellock is about the same as last year's. Last year, all applicants within 2 km got in without any balloting. So, assuming the same trend this year, plus the lower birth rate of 2003, you do stand a high chance because you are within 2 km. :celebrate: -
Hi qms
Thanks for the info
