No-lah mommyNg. DS1 can just keep in tune & remember the lyrics quite fast.

Have not heard of immersion trip in May/June. Only saw a notice about International competition (?) in Taichung, Taiwan. Would have liked to send him for the exposure, but cost is a bit too high for my budget. 😞 He's not going this time.
hee hee, you are too humble lah 😄 . At least joining choir is better than learning to play the violin or piano right (less noise)?! keke, if I need someone to perform singing, can I \"borrow\" your DS1?! 😉 Is he P2 or P3 this year?

Don't worry, I'm sure your DS1 will have lots of other opportunities to participate in competitions, performances and immersion trips!!

DS1 is in P3 this year. I have a feeling that my DS1 was 'selected' becos he 'volunteered' during music lesson & the team is really short on male presence.

Yeah, hope to be able to let him go some time later as long as it doesn't clash with studies/exams/other CCAs.

BTW, he is also learning the piano.

          Hi parent

Anyone know what is this high achievements award? The school is base on the student individual subjects overall results or the student require to score high marks for all the subjects?

          Thanks!

            Hi,

The top 5 pupils (overall score)in each class will receive the High Achiever Award. There is also another award for top GEP/Non-GEP scorer for the level per subject.

Hence, an awardee from a not-so-good class may actually score much lower than someone from a better class who is not a receipient of the award. I personally think this system is good as it recognises achievements at different levels within a cohort. Otherwise, the ceremony will always be dominated by the select few from the top class per level.

The above is true when Mdm Heng was the school principal. Not sure if the new principal has changed any of the criteria for the award.

My DD has been complaining about wearing PE shorts and skirt on the PE days. She feels very uncomfortable wearing both and troublesome when in toilet. I asked her to change to PE shorts only before the PE but she said no time for that. I'd appreciate if you could provide any tips of solving this \"problem\"? :?

Info from P2 Kopi session with Mrs Lee:

School’s choice is Canadian International School at Toh Tuck as holding
site during hilltop construction, but this is pending MOE’s approval.

Staggering start time will be considered.

Shuttle bus to shuttle the P1s and P2s from NYPS to CIS will also be
considered so that parents do not need to perform 2 drop offs.

CIS’ canteen is small…only can fit 2 classes. So maybe engage caterer?

New hilltop will house an after school care (ala Learning Bliss) but it will not be as big as before.

Wah.... Toh Tuck is still kinda far from the current location... Ok, at least they did consider shuttle bus (a great option from the view of parents). But does that mean P1 and P2 will end school early too so can take the shuttle bus back to NYPS and join the school bus home (for those taking school bus)? Hmm... really lots of logistics to consider and coordinate then.

Did she mention about where the Learning Bliss will be during the hilltop construction? Any room for parents' feedback?

                      Thanks for the info BigDevil!

                        Have Been a silent reader.

Really a big sigh to the temp location though I am staying at Hillview.

My Daughter is in P3 now and my son will be joining P1 from 2013.

Was patiently waiting for the day that I just have to drop off both at the same place but this has to happen right when my son is joining in 2013.
