      Happy Mama:

Wow, really? I have never bought any vinegar in my entire life... Looks like I must ask my helper to add Vinegar in her list for next week's grocery shopping. šŸ˜‰ Thanks, Augmum. :celebrate:
      u're welcome.
yes, there are some articles i read from health magazines stating the facts of using vinegar on Fruits and Veg.
and also i ever heard once on radio.

having said that, when i am in the hurry, i usually forget abt it when washing Veg.
except when soaking grapes, i'll remember. šŸ˜‰

I also sometimes cut the veges then wash though I know maybe some nutrients will go away but then no choice like for example carrot šŸ˜›

as for me, i like to cut cabbage into strips first before washing, though shd do the other way round.

me too me too [/quote] :hi5:

I just spoke to my helper and she told me that for broccoli, she will also soak with a pinch of salt, as the salt will cause the worms, if any, to wriggle their way out.

for broccoli, i 'll slowly scrutinise for worms when washing
becos there was once , i almost ate the worms after cooking.

Actually the white vinegar I have at home is used mainly for cleaning not for cooking. Haha, now found another use for it.

for me, i used it mainly for washing fruits such as grapes.
once, my hub asked me how come often seeing me buying vinegar
and yet i never use vinegar to cook dishes.

Isn't soaking the veg in water for about 10min enough?

Hi starlight1968sg, are you refering to all veg or just the broccoli? My helper does not add salt to vegetables. I have instructed her to use Vege Fresh, but I just found out from her that sometimes she forgets.. but for broccoli, she'll add salt to \"attract\" the worms out.

                I mean all veg.

Funz, are there different types of vinegar? Ah, I now recall that I do have vinegar at home, but that's Japanese, and it's for sushi...

Looks like it's time for me to dump away my Vege Fresh! šŸ˜›

so to retain as much as nutrients, not to cut veg then wash,

but sometimes i still do that.

Cut carrots should be ok right, as long as it's not green leafy vegetables?
