Choosing and Evaluating Primary Schools

frust parent:
is only in P1, right ?We failed in Balloting at St Margaret's and eventually my daughter ended up in Canossa Convent. St Margaret's called to say they have a vacancy for my daughter now. But my daughter is doing quite well at Canossa, but we like St Margaret's single session and affiliation to the Secondary. However, we are concern with transiting her into St Margaret's and that it will adversely affect her in her learning experience (both academically and character building). So, am in a dilemma now ...
Any advise/comments is greatly appreciated.[/b]
not much to worry, just transfer
some even transfer at P4 - more adjustment than at P1 -

i know it is the sister school of st anthony canossian primary.
anyway, if it's juz P1, think it shdn't be any big issues if u wanna to transfer her. -
Yes, Canossa Convent is affiliated to St Anthony’s Cannossian for Secondary and Catholic JC.
We are worried with transiting her into the new school. That it may affect her negatively and dislike school. Currently, she is excited to go to school everyday. -

what is yr preference then ?? is st margaret nearer to yr hse ?? -
St Margaret is a little further then Canossa but both distance are comfortable.
We had a preference for St Margaret and thus register but failed in the balloting. However, we are influence by Canossa cos we now know more about the school. Thinking aloud, it is not a fair comparison in a way cos we are not exposed to the St Margaret’s culture yet. -

ya, sometimes after getting use to the school, one may not like to make changes.St Margaret is a little further then Canossa but both distance are comfortable.

btw, hearsay canossa convent may merge with SACPS, isit true ?? -
:? nope, had not heard of the merger. hmm much much further away ... one more reason to transfer ??

Why do you like St Margaret’s over Canossa Convent? If the pull factor for St Margaret’s is that significant, then make a move. If not, just stay at Canossa Convent.
-
For the sake of your grandchildren, choose St Margaret’s now. That small adjustment won’t hurt her. Do it.
