      Poohbear:

I m within 1km from Henry Park n Fairfield... Based on history.. both schools would require ballot for Ph 2c <1km... so i m actually trying to gauge where is my better bet 🙏

If you were in my shoes, what would u do??
First check your second choice school, that can guarantee you a seat, if they are likely to have vacancies left in Phase 2C supp. If no, you may want to seriously consider going for second choice school cos balloting case in Henry Park n Fairfield does not guarantee you a seat - ie if you are risk-adverse.
If you are game enough for balloting and willing to take the risk, monitor the stats during the last day of Phase 2C ie call up the school to check the no. of applicants <1km vs the no. of vacancies - bear in mind that it is only a gauge as a lot of like-minded parents are waiting for that last min to make a decision.
If not, just take into account what you like about each school (culture, distance etc etc), and go ahead and ballot.
      JMHO.

If u were in my shoe, which school would u try to ballot for?

          Fairfield or Henry Park?

Actually my preference is Fairfield cos this school is within walking distance. But in terms of population density, the no of HDB flats ard the school… would mean that balloting is almost a certainty.

Henry Park is in the midst of "rich man" estate… so my guess is the no of applicants <1km shld be less. So chances shld throeactically be higher. But my holdback is that place, my gal would need to take school bus. Eventually if she has cca, i m still not sure how to arrange for her to get back after tat.

Also Henry Park is a so called "top league"… i m not sure if DD can cope. my hubby say i will be more stressed than the kid…

          so i m actually in quite a dilemma…

I guess if you look at the TUR history on CKS charts, FMPS had to ballot for <1km and HP did not. However, FMPS is trending lower this year up to 2A and HP trending higher. Really hard to say. Monitor closely in 2C and see how much info you can get from the school admins of applicants home-school distances I guess. You've only got 1 shot at it because neither will have anything left over for 2C supplementary, so you need a back-up that is neither of these schools.

              Poohbear,

Guess FMPS & HPS are very popular schools, balloting at 1Km is a very stressful. Can look at Queenstown, New Town Pri as backup plan is fail the balloting in both schools.

u r rite… actually i m prepared to go either to New Town or Pei Tong in Ph 2c supplementary if my initial application is not successful…

But between the two schools… it is also a tough decision where to "cast my 1st vote"… hmmm

Only you can really answer that question, both are good schools. Draw up a pro and con list I guess, I think the 2C balloting situation will be roughly comparable beween the schools.

Perhaps NTPS would be better where it is situated near Commonwealth MRT? Is Pei Tong near MRT also?

Yes Pei Tong is very near Clementi MRT, maybe walk 5mins. Sheltered walkway.

In that case PTPS should be a better choice.have sheltered walkway don't reqd any form of rain protection equipment & clothing.
