Krisflyer Miles
-
verykiasu2010:
No. you have to log in your account to redeem the ticket for your friend/nominee. The ticket will be issued based on your nominee registered on SQ websiteorchids:

yes
you need to nominate your friend as you nominee first, then redeem accordingly
If I nominate a friend as my nominee, does he have the authority to get ticket for someone else?
you are still in control of the account, not your nominee
there is a need to pay for the tax and surcharges too.........[/quote]Verykiasu2010, thank you very much. -
u the most welcome…

Hi im still doubtful regarding krisflyer miles.
1) If we book travel through a tour agency, can we still earn krisflyer points?
2) If we are flying on a star alliance, can we transfer or earn krisflyer?
3) Does AMEX krisflyer credit card points tied to your krisflyer account?
Ex: i sign up for a krisflyer and have earn a some miles, den i sign up a AMEX CC. Can it be linked or its separate?
Thanks -
Booking through agency likely cannot clock points as tour agent normally buy "cheap" ticket which are not entitled for mileage accumulation

Yup, if travel agents book \"restricted\" tickets at low price, usually you cannot collect mileage.
As long as you travel with airlines under SA, the miles will be accrued into your Krisflyer account.
These miles are quite nice to have for redemption of free air tickets.
Note expiry date also.
I have redeemed for holidays for my family of 4 to Gold Coast and Tokyo last couple of years. Excluding tax and surcharge of course.
Not decided yet where to go this year end though. :? -

Yes, the amex cc card is tied to the krisflyer account. They do the transfer on a monthly basis.3) Does AMEX krisflyer credit card points tied to your krisflyer account?

Not sure if the promotion is still on, if you charge more than $5k or $10K? a year, you can get bonus krisflyer points. That way, you earn your miles faster.
The only setback I feel about amex is that it is not so widely accepted. Most vendors will prefer visa or master.
But I think they have been pretty customer focus, they waive off annual membership fees when you ask them to do so. Also, they set me up for a survey of what I need and \"customise\" a package for me based on my needs. However I still don't use it because eg. petrol discount, I rather use my esso card that offer me better discount and comes with smiles,etc...
But there is no harm getting this card and charge where possible to it. -
if you quote you KF number when you check in your star alliance flight, you get the KF miles – if the ticket price of the star alliance flight is eligible for miles
amex’s KF miles now is not the most generous anymore, other credit cards are catching up to the game
last year i got about 90,000 miles from amex -
Nice! For 90K you can redeem a saver class to London or LA.
Maybe 2 saver tickets to Tokyo, or a few to Bangkok sector.
Some people are selling their miles in other forums.
But I prefer to keep mine to redeem for my family holidays, or use them to upgrade my ticket during travelling for business.
Cheers. :celebrate: -
but problem is ticket we buy normally not entitled to KG points as most are discounted tickets
so far only my hubby KF pt are all earn from business trip and mine via shopping via amex
SQ taxes is so much higher than other carrier I feel
