Give them a call by phone. If registration's closed just go down anyway. I believe the registration's just so they know the number for logistical purposes, like how many students to deploy to guide the tours. Have fun.

That's a valid question. In general, if you make the COP, you shouldn't have fears of your child not performing in the school. The consideration then is really the culture of the school, the school spirit, the teachers...

The trip was successful, they did not throw me out for not registering.
As jtoh said there was no Principal Talk but a Q and A by the vice principal. There was also a school tour complete with the tour of the boarding school too.
Overall, quite impressive. But the COP seems a bit unreachable for my DS. Anyway :xedfingers:

While returning home a Q popped into my mind. Does NJC have a predetermined number of seats for GEP students for their DSA. Regret not asking it during the Q and A. :slapshead: Can someone throw some light on this?[/quote]That sounds like the tour two years ago. The tour included the museum, the classrooms, science labs with displays of projects done by the kids, boarding school etc.

I understand the Principal now goes to individual schools to give talks and that's why there's no P talk on the tours.

I do not observe there being any pre-determined number of spaces for GEP. There is no separate selection process for GEP students. Everyone is EQUAL - fabulous, right?

Try the DSA if your child is really interested. From my observation, the students who got in via DSA generally cope very well even if they don't make the COP.

I do not observe there being any pre-determined number of spaces for GEP. There is no separate selection process for GEP students. Everyone is EQUAL - fabulous, right?

I don't think there's any predetermined number of places put aside for GEP students. All the students go through the same rigorous DSA process from what I know.

Sorry, yes was there last week and pretty impressive esp the boarding school tour whern my kid + other kids in the same group started to ask free-flow questions on the big jie-jie (was told they are year 3 students)

Yes you are right, the VP was there in the Century (if that is the correct name ) and he was the same guy who visited my DS school just a month ago..:)

We a bit shy for DSA since not in GEP and also do not have any portfolio to speak of. Good to know all get to go at least for the first test. May send DS for even if just for the experience.
