The last time when I checked was $650. That was 2 yr ago. the class is from 9am to 3.30pm. Alot of jap kids.
I am also worried if they prepare the children for Pri 1.
Shandee, try capstone or kay poh road baptist kindy.
Have you visited Chinese kindy? I called up before, the princpal sound very friendly and nice, but yet visit the kindy.
Capstone is a little too far for me.
Hv visited both Chinese Kindy & Kay Poh Baptist Kindy. Mrs Wong, principle at Chinese Kindy is indeed bery friendly & nice. I din make appt for the visit but she gladly show me around... students greeted her too, shows that the kids are comfortable with her.....but the thing is the place is pretty old, its clean but old..... they also have an interactive computer screen for the older kids to write on when in class (smth like a white board thingy), they also have chinese calligraphy for the older kids....
at kay poh, the secretary/ administrator brought me ard (though the principle was in the office, she did not offer to show me ard).... plc is newer than Chinese kindy..... but i din get to \"feel\" much abt the school...think its better if the principle show parents ard cos parents can then have a better info as to how the school is run/ curriculum/ etc..
going to visit YWCA later.....
school hunting is really tiring..... -
It is very tiring. I am still indecisive whether to go for CCC or kindy. I have confirmed a place for my kids with bethesda kindy, the teacher / administrator / principal is a very nice lady and the children look happy too but I din hear much comments on this kindy, so now I don’t know I should stick to it or find new kindy.
One main concern is that PCF kindergarten is conducting 4hr lesson now, but most kindy are still having 3hr class (N1, N2, K1 AND K2). So far, only capstone is 4hr class and KPRBC has 4hr class for K2. I wonder that 1hr shortage will have any impact for them.
do you ask about the enrichment classes Chinese kindy is offering? -

are you a working mum? if so, CC may suit you better cos, kids are occupied during the sch holi.........
went to visit YMCA.....place is spacious, clean & airy.... but class size is big. for pre-nursery, class size is oredi 15 to 2 teachers........wouldnt it be tough for teacher to oversee so many young kids ? -
my DD is 3YO this year, she is currently in half day CC. I don't want to change school for her in later stage, so trying to find a suitable one and let her finish her N2, K1 and K2 there. And DS can follow suit
I am FTWM but my mum is helping me to look after my kids. I have a maid too to help out too.
I think for N1 class, the ratio is about so. They follow MCYS standard. -

Hi, capstone has school bus services?
Hi, my 3YO son is now in Capstone Kindergarten Pre-Nursery class. I enrolled him to a Kindergarten also thinking that it will benefit him more. Though he is only there since Jan this year, I can see that he actually can learn things in school as he hums the songs at home that he learnt from school. Also, his speech has improved much too. I liked their curriculums and it’s a 3hrs class for them which from Nursery onwards will be 4hrs. They will also assess the child’s development every Term and send you a report on how is your child doing.coccomie:
Hi Mummies,
Any comments on Bethesda (depot walk) kindergarten, Capstone kindergarten and Chinese kindergarten?
My 3YO girl is currently in half day CC, i think a kindergarten will benefit her more. So far, I only know these 3 kindergarten.
How about MMI bukit merah?

Hi Coccomie,
Have you decided on your kindy? -
I have not decide, going down to capstone on 9 may. They have school bus service, if my dd like it, then I will enrol her there. If not, I go for bethesda kindy.

Hello,
We are currently staying in Redhill and we are shortly moving to Jalan Bukit Merah,Block 132.Please let me know some good playschools/Kindergartens pretty closeby so that it would be easy for me to enroll for my 2.5 yr old kid and he is currently studying pre-nursery in True Way which is in Queenstown…I enquired Apple tree and Adroit but no vacancy…
Thanks for your help,
Rgs,
Vinodha. -
i know there is a lack of preschools in this area, i have been thru this as well when selecting my son’s kindergarten…bt i managed to find a kindy for him at river valley called JHS montessori, my son has been there coming for 3yrs already, i am glad i made the right choice cos the class ratio is not that big compare to other kindy & my boy is one who is more timid & quiet so he will take quite awhile to settle in school
This school also have a parents support group that enable parents to join in to organise activities for the school, in a way i feel involved in my son’s education & can join him in some events at school as well
do call the school to find out more if u are still searching hi n low for yr kids’ kindy around this area
