All about Transferring to Other Primary Schools

Could it be that they want to change the school into single session in a few years time?? so now they are trying to shrink the number of students? Just my guess.. :?
Btw if my son get into the school in the Phase 2C then it will be easier to get my daughter there???

You could be right. Her ex-school shrink 1 class when they moved from P1 to P2. Next year, it is going to be single session school.
If you son gets a place, you have a more βvalidβ reason lah. Of course, they will tell you no guarantee still. -
I just did the unthinkable last Monday
went to the Meet the People session.. pour sorrow there about the transfer of school :?:
haiz.. I must be very stressful. After this.. just have to wait..

Just to share my experience.
When I could not get the school that I wanted my son to enter after balloting 2 years ago, I put him in the waiting list. I did not receive any phone call from them since then. So after getting his P1 results, I faxed it to the school around mid Novβ08. I called the school and as usually they told me no vacancy.
Surprisingly, they called me 3 days before school open (end Dec'08)and asked whether I am still interested to transfer my son to their school. I went to the school immediately and get the paper works done within a day, buying uniforms & books also. And he started P2 in his new school.
So I think you just need to wait till year end, fax your daughter latest result to them and call them again.
Hope this helps. -

Hi,
Can i check with ur that we can go to the school which we decided to transfer her to check on vacancy is it? I need to do a transfer of school again end of this yr as we manage to find a new hse. The first time i went thru the STEP and got into this school, but i still got go to other school to check for vacancy but all was full. Pls advice. Does final result play a part to it? My daughter result is not very good, so quite scare. -
IMHO, itβs best to transfer your kids during P1 and P2 as these are the foundation building years, and the kids tend to grace through them quite easily. I do believe that results play a part in the transfer application. By P3 the application for transfer may be reviewd a little more stringently than for P1 and P2.
That having said, I do know of someone who has successfully transferred his child from to PLMGS in term 3. -

I think results do play a crucial part in selection. That's what 2 schools told me when I placed my child on waitlist. One of them told me that more vacanies will be around end P3 when about 10+ kids will move on to GEP programme in beginning P4.Hi,

So i really need to stress my daughter as she didnβt did well in SA1. I will be transfer her after her P3, so they will scan thru her result and see which school suit her if go thru MOE? but if i just take her result to the school we want, they will still scan thru althought there are vacancy in the school after the GEP student move out?
