          ChiefKiasu:
Q: Can I use a rental address to register my child?

          Variations:
Q: Can I use the address of my uncompleted property to register my child?
Q: Can I move house after my child's successful Primary school registration?
Q: How long must we stay at the address that was used to register my child?
well.. sometimes landlords don't want to renew the rental so people don't have a choice but to move out. this should be recognized by MOE/Schools as valid reasons i suppose.

            Hi…

Can anyone advise me on this?

We have 2 houses in 2 different areas. I changed my address on my IC to address B but my husband’s address on his IC remains address A.

My dd is due for P1 next year thus we are planning to apply for a school near our address B.

Any issues with this, since both of our ICs state different addresses?

              Hi

You should be using the address that your family will be staying in the next few years, for registration.

It is said that if the addresses on the NRIC are different, the address on the dad's NRIC would be used. Of course the exception will be on separated case where mummy has the custody.

It is not worth trying to \"creatively workaround\" the registration system, if caught, the child will be transferred out and the parents may be publicly shamed in the media. Moreover, it is very tiring for the child to be traveling long distance to and fro school each day.

                Hi..

                Thanks for your advice.

The school we are planning to register her is only 10 mins from home, and we are staying near the school.

Before we moved to this area, my husband had registered his business using the old address & the info is printed on the namecards, invoices, etc, thus he wants to continue using the address. The house is still ours though it's rented out.

In that case i think i've better tell him abt this coz this is our 1st time going thru the P1 registration 🙂

                Many thanks..

Hi … can someone shed some light or confirm if the following would work?

I will be registering my son for P1 in school A under phase 2A2 which should guarantee a place. If subsequently i want to take a risk & ballot for school B under phase 2B >2km, how would be withdrawal & registration process be?

I was thinking that I would wait till the afternoon of the 2nd day of 2B registration and if the numbers look ok, my husband will do the withdrawal at school A and then I will do the registration at school B. This is assuming that the system is online & does not need time to process the withdrawal before allowing registration.

I read in someone’s post that simultaneous withdrawal/registration not possible because we do not have 2 sets of original documents… I thought school A would only take copies of our ic, child’s health booklet, etc. They don’t retain the original documents right?

Any advice & clarification would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Yes, system is online and real time. Hence, you need to withdraw from School A before your application with School B will be accepted.

You don't need original documents to withdraw from School A. Only when you are applying do you need original documents.

                        hi all,

am interested in placing my girl in haig girls…
I called up the school to have a gauge of my chances in phase 2C…
and she was diplomatic in saying that the results will be out in june/july.
could anyone clue me in on my chances or should i give up?
                        please help…
