      Can anyone enlighten me on how to monitor the vacancies at Phase 2C? I am aiming for either RMPS (1-2km) or RVPS (>2km). I see suggestions to register on the last day of the registration period but I was wondering how to tell which school will have more likihood of no balloting?

      Hi mimiof2!

      I think when you talk about these two schools, it is a matter of what distance balloting will occur, rather than whether there is balloting or not. ๐Ÿ˜‰

      To monitor, you will have to call the school, maybe on the morning of the third day, so that you can make up your mind and register in the afternoon.
      mimiof2:
      The MOE website and Kiasu parent website does not show the number of applications according to distance for each phase. Do I call up the school to ask at the end of each day? Will they tell me how many applications they have received for <1km>2km?
      Not too sure about RMPS and RVPS, but I suppose if they receive more applications than number of vacancies for a particular distance category, they should (by right) tell you accordingly so that you do not waste your chance, and proceed to apply at other schools in this phase.

      I am thinking of changing my plans to register for Zhangde Primary which is <1 km but my hubby is not too keen to have my daughter in the same school as his newphew. He was thinking we can just fall back on Queenstown Primary at Phase 2C supplementary if we are not successful with RMPS. Can anyone give some advice/ comparison between Zhangde and Queenstown?
      Actually, your best bet in Phase 2C is Zhang De, considering the balloting history, and the current take-up rate. Zhang De is strong in their character development. Any reason why your husband is not keen in the school, besides the fact that his nephew is in the school, too?

      I attended the open house of Zhang De last year, and I must say I was very impressed with them and the way they organised the open house.

        Hi mimiof2

        Nothing is official until the registration closes. By registering on the last day of Phase 2C, you will be able to "guage" the number of appliants against the number of vacanies available. If number of applicants > number of vacanies, there would be balloting. As to balloting at which category (ie. >2 km or within 1km), that I canโ€™t tell either.

        But forumers here have given their views that RMPS is highly likely to go into balloting at within 1km range.

          Hi All,

          Just know the following score that had registered at Phase 2B of Day 1.

          RVPS = 28
          RMPS = 15-19 (Estimate)
          ZDPS = 0 (Maybe do not have PV),watch out for MOE website update
          .

            Thanks everyone for your great advice. Honestly, I am getting quite stressed with this whole P1 registration exercise. MOE really should review the whole process. Itโ€™s just crazy to have so many phases and differentiation.

              Really appreciate everyone's contribution. Think I will persuade my hubby to change his mind about ZDPS. All the uncertainty and monitoring are killing me.

                Not confused at all lah, it just a few phases like 1, 2A(1), 2A(2), 2B, 2C, 2C Supp then Phase 3. Come to KSP forum here to learn more.

                If I stay within 1Km of ZDPS, I would give up RMPS.Too bad I'm not within 1Km of ZDPS.

                  titank, you have the benefit of 1 entire year of research and \"PV development\". I suspect mimiof2 probably started looking at this no more than a couple of months ago. The whole P1 Registration process is indeed NOT an easy thing for anyone to grasp as a fresh concept.

                      Blangah Rise, ZhangDe & Gan Eng Seng sem to be at status zero on Day 1 of Phase 2B. Maybe they do not hav any PV or all awaiting on the 2nd day then register?

                      Hi QMS, Chipmunks & Rene,

                      I'm going to register at RMPS on 21 July. Manage to speak with the RMPS Admin where they said the number wouldn't increase much. So maybe PV (RMPS) list could be 20. Maybe Phase 2C = 43 + 23 (Balance of 2B) = 66, Balloting maybe would remain the same at 1Km to 2Km range like in last year.

                      Don't know is this a good decision to take RMPS & let go RVPS. :?
                      Wonder my kid would be able to handle when in RMPS. :shock:

                      I wish you all good luck in RMPS in Phase 2C, if get in then maybe we can form a Kaki Gang during the oridentation.
                      :celebrate:

                        Titank, thks for your well-wishes. I had exactly the same thoughts as u when I decided not to go for RV at P2A2, and if my kid could handle when in RMPS.

                        U can now relax since you have made your decision. Just wait for the good news & prepare for orientation.

                        QMS, Rene, good luck to us !!! Really hope no need to ballot for those within 1 km...
