always have confidence in our Singapore police force.(esp this type of sinful act)Augmum:
really heart-breaking to hear that \"a mother\" could do such a sinful act.pinky:
this is attempted murder and harsh punishment must be meted out :x :x :x :x
i believe the mother of the child will be caught very very soon...... -
I don’t understand, carry the baby inside for 9-10 monthd, the mother should have some feelings for the baby. How can strangle-cum-buried alive? Or maybe, the mother thought the baby died from stangulation, so buried the baby.
If don’t want baby, can leave it outside homes, places of worships or hospital, don’t need to be so cruel -

I don't think our gvt will be as liberal as to allow such a serviceSingapore should have a baby-drop system at the hospitals so that desperate mothers can give away the babies instead of dumping them at rubbish chute or staircase. It is a win-win situation, the mothers won't be charged for abandoning the babies, the babies won't die, some childless couples can adopt the babies.
I believe Germany and Malaysia already have this system. -

Maybe the dumping baby practice is not sth new back in their own home.I don't understand, carry the baby inside for 9-10 monthd, the mother should have some feelings for the baby. How can strangle-cum-buried alive? Or maybe, the mother thought the baby died from stangulation, so buried the baby.

according to ST today, if convicted, she face a jail term of up to 6 months and a fine not more than $6000 in lieu of caning
she entered Singapore illegally last year and was arrested for some other cases (not mentioned what) and had ran away from her employer after working for 4 months
IMO, the punishment is too lenient, the baby almost died in her hands  -
pinky:
i agree... :x this level of punishment may entice more people to do the same thing since they might feel: \" aiya...6 mths jail only, then fine also less than $6K...\" :rant:according to ST today, if convicted, she face a jail term of up to 6 months and a fine not more than $6000 in lieu of caning
