Did you join the PTA? The kopi sessions are organised by the PTA, and they
will send out emails informing members about the kopi sessions…one for each level. -
Here's the nyps PTA website... the kopi session is usually organised by the PTA committee ...

I have been receiving emails from PTA last year, but for some reason no more emails this year.... :? Maybe I should contact the PTA?
Thanks Jrjunior for the link.... very helpful!
By the way, I spoke with Learning Bliss, they said it is highly likely the holding site for P1 & P2 will be at the Canadian International School. Also, they said likely that they will operate from the holding site during that period, so there may be a chartered bus from NYPS to CIS for those P3-P6 going to Learning Bliss after school.... -
Hi VeryKiasu 2010,
Thanks for the info. I met e VP n she told me it’s 130pm for P1. She will check it out why so many classes are down so early. She has seen it herself! -
Like to find out from parents if their kids been given homework that you wld find excessive?
Especially over the labour day long week end . This is not the normal lot, but something like 80 to 100 pages. EL, CL, Math, etc. EL itself something like 20 pages, out of which they have to write out the sentences ( i.e. The entire question and the answer itself on several exercises, even though one can simply write the answer itself on the Essential English grammar book.
And about 300 words minimum on EL journal of composition nature, and the EL comp exam was last week!
Apparently, this EL homework partially is to punish the whole class because of one student’s mis-behaviour. The other subject homework does not seemed too bad, infact rather appropriate .
Do Teachers co-ordinate at all ? My child was on the vie of tearing whe I pick him up from school. And did not want to talk for a good 5 minutes.
This is not the first time, but one of the worst, given especially time is of the essence as the exams are drawing so near.
Other times it seemed like they are merely making a last minute attempt to fill up some homework quota.
Is there the need to put so much unnecessary pressure on the kids, when they are already under so much pressure? Especially so with the study less , learn more idea I don’t know
how they intend to achieve this . As I personally find that on certain occasions , only superficial level teachings were done in class, and students are expected to do
homework on that topic right after . We as parents have to teach so much at home.
On a few occassions, our hope of having a normal weekend with the family were as good as gone because of the amount of teaching needed and the sheer amount of homework to be completed over a certain amount of time.
Sorry for the rant, but I would appreciate if parents would come forward to share their experience on this.
Thanks -
My dd is in P3. There is no much homework. Is your child in P6?
