Oh.. did it state as Penmanship in the circular form you rec'd? Maybe P1 is different from P2. So not to worry.

My gal is P2 and there was a slip given to her for what will be tested for Mother Tongue Subject, tomorrow she is having 看图写段落.

thanks wkong! my gal told me she just had to copy a phase of chinese passage for the penmanship testing. guess they are not ready to write composition at this stage. phew!

For those who doesn't know what is Maths Practical, this is the answer I got from my DD's form teacher. Cheers!

\"Practical test is one where the girls are expected to use manipulatives to find the answers. The girls will be moved from station to station with the help of the teacher in charge. There are a total of three stations and they have to come with blue, red and orange colour pencils in their pencil case.\"

My guess is, for Chinese Penmanship, your child is supposed to copy a short passage or something the like to show how ‘beautiful’ and ‘correct’ her handwriting is. Then, they are graded according. Just like English Penmanship.

According to a reply from my daughter's FT, teh reply is as quoted \"Maths Prac Test tests the pupils in the application of Maths topics taught where manipulaitves and items are given to pupils...\"

My gal told us that usually the teacher gives them items such as blocks, ice cream sticks etc to show their understanding of certain maths topic...so guess this is what the teacher meant

Kindly advise if your DDs have any comments about Marymount's school bus system. And also, are there any known cases of school bullies? Considering registering my DD in P1 for the year 2012.
