For P2B, there were a couple of years where balloting was required for those staying > 2 km away from the school, while the other years had vacancies left at the end of P2B.I have done my PV and location >2km.
What is my chance in Nan Hua?

Hence, it's very difficult to tell. To be safe, you may like to consider moving nearer to the school. -
Hi qms,
Moving house is not my consideration.
Moreover, I suppose it’s too late to do that.
I am just wondering that should I give it a
try since I have 2 chances to ballot?
Do you think I should call the principal of
Nan Hua Pri to ask for her opinion?
Hmm…wonder will she entertain me???
Does it mean if I live btw 1-2km I would be safe?

You can always try, but prepare a backup plan. If your child doesn't get into Nan Hua in P2B, there is no chance at all in P2C.hot:
Call the principal? Purpose? While the school controls the number of PVs, nobody will be able to advise you on the number of community leaders who will be eligible to register in P2B. Hence, not sure whether calling the principal will help you much.Do you think I should call the principal of Nan Hua Pri to ask for her opinion?

Based on past years' statistics, the answer is yes. However, there is no guarantee this year's scenario will be like previous years'.Does it mean if I live btw 1-2km I would be safe?

Hi hi parents,Yes if u stay out of 2km from NHPS and registering under phase 2C, I would say forget it liao too...
Actually they do accept PVs but they are very very stringent on it. U must prove that u can really contribute to the school and do something they really need before they accept u.
Maybe another way is to try the grassroots leader route which would qualify u under phase 2B too..
Can i know what does it mean by grassroots leader route? thanks! -
hi qms,
thanks for replying.
i have checked with principal of Nan Hua, as expected, she said the thing as you and wish me good luck :xedfingers:
She mentioned chances are higher for P2B less than 2km.
Do you know is it too late for me to change address nearer to Nan Hua? any idea what is the quaifying period of this address for P1 registration?
many thanks -

Meaning you join the RC/NC and become a community leader.
You might want to take a look at the http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=420 for more info. -

It's not too late to change the address in your NRIC now. I thought you said moving house is out of the question? :scratchhead:
Like what RRMummy said in the other thread, if you decide to change the address in your NRIC, just make sure you will be physically staying in that address or the consequence will be dire. -

As have replied in the other thread, I think I did not
make myself clear. I fully aware and understand
the consequences of the changing address and
not staying there. I meant to say to move and
stay in a house nearer to the school and thus the
new address.
Yes, I did say that before, as I do not like go into
mad rush of changing address, moving house etc.
It was when I told my sister abt it that she too
suggested me to do that..haizz
btw. I have a question regarding balloting, not
sure is this thread to ask:
i am likely to register another school under P2A,
then monitor for Nan Hua under P2B. At what
point of time and day should I be making decision
and action of withdrawing from P2A for P2B?
I am curious what and how is the process / procedure
is like under P2B, how do we know there is a
need to ballot or not?
many thanks -

Glad that you are aware of the rules.hot:
Parents usually make the decision on the last day of the P2B registration. One parent goes to School A for the withdrawal. It is only after the child's application with School A is withdrawn will application with School B be accepted. The parent in School B holds the original documents because you don't need the originals to withdraw.i am likely to register another school under P2A, then monitor for Nan Hua under P2B. Call the school constantly to check which group balloting will be carried out for. -

Hi qms,
Thanks qms.
What do we need to produce for the withdrawal besides the withdrawal letter?
Is there withdrawal letter given by school A or we have to draft own
withdrawal letter? In the case that we have to produce self prepared letter,
what should be mentioned in the letter? Is there any sample draft for reference?
Is it correct that we can authorise relatives to settle the withdrawal from school A?
regards
