sorry to say this but i never trust the following from China :
medicine, vaccine, doctors, and food
in the early 2000s, we still brought our own soya sauce, pagoda brand salt, SIS sugar, imported milk powder (which they still buy from HK on day trip these days).....buy your supplies from the 'foreigner' supermarket
and all these years, always carry own medicine from singapore, including syringe for injection - brought from singapore, and of course personal thermometer -

it is a well know fact. not only watermelon : also peaches, longan, lychee, mandarins, oranges, apples, you name it
one of the reason i don't buy fruits produced from china soil -
during the peak of the bird flu a few years back, you can find young spring chicken for sale in the market
people may think that at least they have not used growth hormone to grow it till fat and big … but those were actually sick birds about to die, quickly slaughtered to avoid selling dead birds…lol

shocking! Never buying made in china fruits again.

poor famers probably did it to survive but the big players are out to make 黑心钱 but both are equally guilty.
all these ill-gotten money (be it corruption or whatsoever) made many pp from this country millionaires. so am not surprised that friends said they 看不起 some of these pp (met cos of business or social networking) cos’ the wealth they got are 黑心钱. -
poor baby…poor parents…really hate people who sell fake products that can harm. But there are also many other possibilities when a baby’s health suddenly start to fail, including preexisting medical conditions and vaccine injury. I hope some kind souls can step in and help them get to the root of the problem as quickly as possible.

Otherwise, I will ask him drop me back in the hotel and I dine in the hotel. Except at times when I went to really ulu places, I did eat at roadside stalls back then.Happy Mama:
I guess we don't have much choice when it comes food, especially if we are on work trips in China. Still got to eat mah.
as much as possible avoid questionable restaurant, road side stores, and if in doubt, stick to well known eatery - only reduce risk, can't be absolutely risk free
last time when on long road journey, my driver will go inspect the kitchen of the restaurant and watch them cook if we have to eat along the way. really kiasu and kiasi

they farmers used growth hormones and artificial sweetener injected into the water melons to make them grow faster and sweeter. I must say they reap what they sow so they dun deserve sympathy.
I also read before they inject red colouring to make them look rosy and ripe. It was discovered by the locals when they started washing the watermelons before eating and the water turned red..This was reported some time back. -
