hi i have a set of twin Boy & girl. My kids will be going to P1 in 2012. Im considering a co-ed school either pei chun or kheng cheng (2nd choice). Will be in phase 2C as Im a PR. Can someone enlighten me how will balloting take place when u have twins?

What are the chances of phase 2C at peichun?
Any other schools i can consider? im staying at lor 8.

        thanks in advance.

Past years' balloting record gives us an idea but bear in mind it may not neccessarily be the same for future years. Do take a look at the table below.
          http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/toa-payoh

For the past few years, there were balloting for P2C at PeiChun but only those within 1km got a chance. So if you are staying within 1km from the school, it is likely that there will be balloting but if you are staying beyond 1km, chances may be very slim.

I am not familiar with the policy for twins so perhaps those who know could help you with their advice later.

For twins, you have the option of considering them as one or two. If you want them to be considered as one application, during balloting, your twins will get only one balloting slip. When your twins' slip is called, both of them get in. If you want them to be considered as two applications, and hence two balloting slips, if one gets in, it does not imply that the other will automatically get in, unless the balloting slip of the other twin is also being drawn.

thanks for the info. looks like peichun gonna be a close also coz the number of people balloting is twice the amt of the place being offered.

how soon will one get the result after balloting? and if dont get in.. will i have enough time to go to the next school? Pardon my ignorance as I got no idea how the system works.

You will be able to witness the balloting, in which case, you will know the result on the spot.

Let's say balloting starts at 9 am. You can call up the school by noon to find out the results.

If your children do not get in after balloting, you will have to register them at the next phase, i.e. Phase 2C Supplementary.

Oh.. looking at the past balloting chart, I understand getting into Peichun chances quite slim. Furthermore Im a PR only entitle to 1 chance of balloting.

Any suggestion if i should try for PeiChun or straight away register at KhengCheng (i dont see any balloting at KhengCheng last year). Or try at PeiChun if cant get in then try KhengCheng for Phase 2C Supplementary? What if at KhengCheng Phase 2Csup also no more place... Argh...

This is the risk you will have to take if you want to try for Pei Chun. You need to discuss with your husband on this matter.

                        good answer ..

but looking at the chart http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/toa-payoh?page=4

yellow color under kheng cheng for phase2CS.. means balloting required for 1-2km. So if im staying within 1km does it means i can get in without balloting? or i still need to ballot?
