Yes, tonnes of homework and my son has to do his homework till 11 PM - 12 PM almost every night. Did any child in IC also facing this problem?

Teacher will put up the result and pupils' performance on her blog. Not sure is a good thing or not...... 😓 😓

Every class is different in terms of homework allocation.

I heard 1 C has their own class blog. And tonnes of homework.

My DS in 1E still cope-able with his homework and weekly class test.

Not just tons. Progress is super fast. Some homework quite challenging. I used to think I have well prepared my girl for P1 and my girl should have ample time 'day dreaming' or idling in P1 and I myself can sit back and relax at least for the first year. I was totally wrong. I have to sit down wz her nearly every evening (if I am not traveling or doing OT) to make sure she finishes all homework in time.

But I can see most kids are coping well. They are just amazing. So I will just have to swallow my 'complaints' and try keeping up.

This week what the busy weeks for P2 pupil’s. As there are ""COMMOM TEST""". And most of the school alrdy had their SA1 done. I rather to have SA1. Commom Test instead. That’s really no different. Always back with all letters. And kind of different testest. Make parents so confused:(

Really workloaded for kids and poor all mummies as well:( Especially not a chinese family speaker. LOL! sob sob sob…

        Hey ululu…
Oh you commented Poi Ching teacher’s are super responsible. wowowwo! excuse me, your child (children) in Poi Ching? Sorry, I did not read previous thread pages.
well, you sounded good impression towards all teacher’s in Poi Ching…wowow!!!
Sure, all of them are Super Respoinsible?

However, I would like to highlight all have to depends of our kids and teachers’. LOL!
Seemed the same as hired a maid. Isn’t?
oops! sorry this is my thinking.

Hi bluemoment, Tks for the sharing and advice. Parent support is indeed very important at lower primary level where our kids need guidance most. Just hope that this Period of hand-holding can be less stressful andas swift and brief as possible.

Aloyaloi, just hang on there. These few weeks I finally saw some improvement with DS in coping with her homework. Though I still have to constantly remind, train and nag her to attend to her homework and make sure all is done, her handwriting speed has picked up a lot. Like overnight change of a kind.... One page of tracing used to take more than 40 min.. now only took around 20 min. Thank God. So I think my previous comment about the load could be a bit unfair. It maybe afterall boils down to DS fine motor skill development... Sometimes we just have to be more patient....

I see the blog 100% positive and appreciate it a lot. So far this is the only way I can get the timely first hand update on their school life and progress. Please Keep it going! :))

Hi Janice, no lah, I don't know all teachers, not even having any personal encounter yet. I am telling from the way they mark my DD homework. Very detailed and encouraging, very 用心loh. Looking forward to the upcoming first meet the parents meeting next week.

            Hi All,

Just my personal feel. I find the kids are quite pitiful. My DS keeps saying, everyday i have to do so much of work. He can tell me that, "mummy very stressful you know " I have very little time to play. I keep telling him to endure for these 2 weeks after the SA test are over. Quite sad that their childhood is binded by so much school work, workbooks, enrichment classes, etc.

Sometime I think, if ever opportunity arises I wont mind to bring them away from this system.

I have seen some colleagues’ kids, ( foreigner not subjected to such stress ) but they are equally smart and intelligent later on years.
Has it been proven the system in this manner work for our kids ?? Sighhh

              hi angel,

To be honest, I am quite pessimistic about seeing any change to the current system. If there is any, very likely our DD or DS would have missed the boat anyway… so have to bite the bullet… just bite the bullet…

                Hi Ululu,

Even our usual PD dr also can say that these days the education system is very cruel. Told me don’t put the kids to those too premium school. They will be stressful … Let them enjoy their childhood.

I am planning if i have any training coming up overseas to those developed countries, I wont mind to bring DS over to experience some cultures there. Let him have some breathing space. I will just write a letter to PCS to excuse him couple of months.

I myself also feel stressed up … guess all parents feel the same as well.

Hihihi ululu and all parents here!!!!

Anyone here are as a member of Parents Support Group?
Am so strange for myself. hahaha!
In fact, am a Parents Support Group since my boy are primary.1 last year. And I did not attend all activities at updated. sigh!
Am also a PV during my boy while he is pri.1. PV during the recess from 3 to 4pm. And I gv a notice 1 or 2 weeks to stop as a PV.If I did not remember. 😞

Well, this is my personal thinking.....am so stressed with everything:(....
This school or those no SA1. However, make us and our poor kids more stressed.

Meet parents session. Well, don't expected too much. LOL
As we attended last year. Teacher's only spend about 5 mins or more to talk about our precious children.
                  **this is my thinking only**
(PLEASE Bring a RED COLOR FILE along with you. while attend the meet parents session) for those alrdy in primary 2. 🙂

OMG! i hv only a boy in primary 2 now. and alrdy caused me so stressful:(
Cannot think if i hv more kids.
However, in fact good to have more sibling:(.....sigh

                  Am counting down now......Yeah!
No school on the 25th.....However, kids need to do e-learning as well. 😄
