      Hi yap_susan

My understanding is u will get 2 slips in any phases when balloting is needed. So as to say, if 2 parents (1 Singaporean, 1 PR) need to ballot, there will 3 slips in the box, 2 slips for u, and 1 slip for the PR.

      Thanks.
      gsk

      Hi,
What if I register for one school but didn't get in, then when I register for another school, still two balloting slips?

yes. but it will be in subsequent phase.

hi, any parents know is it too late for me to change address nearer to my prefered school? any idea what is the qualifying period of this address for P1 registration?

        many thanks

no. on the day of registration, the address on your NRIC would be used.

and if subsequently found not staying at the registered address will (1) kena transfer out from school, press report etc ; (2) kena charge for false declaration

          hi,

I think I did not make myself clear. I fully aware and understand the consequenses of the changing address and not staying there. Thanks for the reminder. πŸ˜„

I meant to say to move and stay in a house nearer to the school and thus the new address.

            hi hot,

I don’t think there is a min time you must stay in it. They will look at your address at point of registration. the only thing to note is that you should be staying there as it’s an offence to have on nric an address you are not staying in.

so long as u update ur new add within 7 days of moving in @ any police post, it will be fine. all gahmen bodies will be updated of ur add automatically.

but to do so, u hv to provide proof that u are indeed staying at that add like showing ur phone bill, town council bill, etc...

the officer updating ur add will verify & paste a new add slip over ur nric. use this same nric for p1 registration.

hope this clarify ur doubts. πŸ˜„

                Hi hquek , poppy15,

                Thanks for the advise.
I am half hearted pertaining to moving of house.
Not sure by doing so, how much will I gain from it.
Although I have backup plan, but I really hope to
get in Nan Hua as its single session where I need
to plan for student care for my boy and its nearer
                to my house.

Checked Nan Hua website, P1 Registration
                starting 5 Jul 11. P2B 18 – 19 July 2011.. getting
abit nervous now. Can I check the balloting process
is it same day right after the last day of P2B registration?
After the closing P2B registration, can still withdraw prior
                balloting?
My sis lives <1km 7years back, has gone thru the balloting..
she said heart nearly stopped and dropped....she was the last 3rd to be called.

                    hi hot,

I was in the same predicament last year - to move house or not. We finally decided to go to a school that's nearerest to where we plan to stay permanently and makes more sense for us transport wise. During the daytime, my parents take care of my kids in their home - so we factored that in. In the end, we feel we made the right choice of school and definitely no regrets.

There should be a few days for P2B registration. After each day, the stats will be updated on TV text (and probably MOE website). You can call up the school - the popular ones should be used to telling pp how many within 1km etc. Else, you can opt to go down to your preferred school to understand your chances.

Once registration close for 2B, you will NOT be able to withdraw and go to another school under this phase. There will be no point to withdraw at this time. You must do it before the closing time. Once the phase has passed, you can only register in the subsequent phases.

In all, whatever school your child ends up in, do the best you can for your child - that will matter more than going to a supposed 5-star primary school. Good luck!

Silly question here. Does it matter if I move/change house after we have gotten the confirmation for the primary school registration?
