all these ill-gotten money (be it corruption or whatsoever) made many pp from this country millionaires. so am not surprised that friends said they 看不起 some of these pp (met cos of business or social networking) cos’ the wealth they got are 黑心钱.

poor baby…poor parents…really hate people who sell fake products that can harm. But there are also many other possibilities when a baby’s health suddenly start to fail, including preexisting medical conditions and vaccine injury. I hope some kind souls can step in and help them get to the root of the problem as quickly as possible.

as much as possible avoid questionable restaurant, road side stores, and if in doubt, stick to well known eatery - only reduce risk, can't be absolutely risk free

last time when on long road journey, my driver will go inspect the kitchen of the restaurant and watch them cook if we have to eat along the way. really kiasu and kiasi

Wow you went to this extent... but then better be safe than sorry. For me, the driver will usually bring me to bigger restaurants for meals. Otherwise, I will ask him drop me back in the hotel and I dine in the hotel. Except at times when I went to really ulu places, I did eat at roadside stalls back then.

did you read the news in the papers today about the extreme amount of chemicals used to grow watermelons in china. it caused the watermelons to burst thus dashing the hopes of farmers hoping to make a quick bucks.

they farmers used growth hormones and artificial sweetener injected into the water melons to make them grow faster and sweeter. I must say they reap what they sow so they dun deserve sympathy.
I also read before they inject red colouring to make them look rosy and ripe. It was discovered by the locals when they started washing the watermelons before eating and the water turned red..This was reported some time back.

Somehow, I kinda find it hard to pity them too :skeptical:
Personally, ever since the tainted milk incident, I minimize buying food products from China. I have stopped getting sweets/chocolates from China. Even things like veg, biscuit, instant noodles etc, I have avoided as much as possible. And there's also locally produced salted eggs which I can only find at Seng Shiong.

what if manufacturere/suppliers copy what the PRC folks are doing to cut costs and make obscene profits ?

already there were 2 reports from Malaysia that made me wonder:
1. fake eggs were found to be sold in Penang and the method used was same as that in China (they conducted classes to teach people how to make fake eggs).

2. pork from dead/sick/pigs from fresh graves were used to make wantons, char siew, buns, bak gua and illegal slaughter process the carcasses under horrible environment

Just wondering, could it also be allergy to the vaccine? I read somewhere before, there are kids who are allergy to vaccine and end up with a lot of problem. That is why there are some parents who are quite unwilling to give their kids vaccine.

I deal with TCM, so must say 100% of TCM are from china. Must admit there are really ill-evil businessmen out there, but since it is TCM, must still get from China. Now my husband is helping my dad in wholesale of TCM so he travels to China monthly. Lucky for us, we know someone trustworthy and does not have much problem. But must still say, sometimes still being ‘tricked’ by people there who mixed low grades herbs for the price we pay for.
However, I think it is not China, but people who do the business. If they are bad at heart, they can do all sort of rubbish regardless of where they are from. Or is it Chinese who are more cunning?

dont think it is restricted to china chinese alone. it is just that there are too many negative yet true stories about how they made $$$ not just here in but also other countries including china herself.
