In terms of performance, Nanyang has consistently been one of the top primary schools. Some people say it's highly stressful there though. Why not check out the Nanyang primary thread to have a sense of the school.

Between these 2 SAP schools, I would go for Nanyang if stay within 1km. My son is at Pei Hwa...so he can send his kids there if he and his wife are agreeable.

Both schools have v good PSLE t-scores, estimated at about low 240(Nanyang), about 230 (NanHua). See 25 apr 2011 5.29pm posting on

NY has the highest estimates that I've come across from my data (no data on CatHigh nor SCGS). NH is about the same as RGPS and TaoNan. Both NY and NH GEP schools which NY having larger GEP cohort. As for school environment, best to check other parents on this website.

I have not many days to decide now… My DS will be in P1 next year.

I live in Sembawang. The school that I intend to send him is Endeavour. I am a ex-student of Red Swastika in Bedok.

Distant is not a problem. I will shift to Bedok if I have chosen Red Swastika. For the time being I can stay with my bro until I have found a flat.

                What school would you suggest.

                Please comment. Thank you

I am new to kiasu parent, and after reading for a few days, i'm really feeling the stress of being a parent and having the heavy responsibility of choosing a good school for my boy.

We stay just a junction away from Radin Mas, but I have always worried abt the school being to stressful for our little children, despite it being a high-flying school topping charts over the years. I've also observed and heard from friends with kids in the school that the boys can be quite rowdy...

I've always like River Valley Primary for its focus on chinese education (we speak both languages at home, and the boy has chosen Mandarin to be his 1st language so he's really comfortable with it!), but obviously choosing RV wld mean that we'll have to volunteer, plus transportation wld be an issue when the kid has after-school activities.

So... the big debate at home with the hubby has started. The man thinks that it's silly not to consider Radin Mas when it is only a walk away from home... (i have to add that my boy is v vocal and mischievous, so I really want to do what i can to have him mix with the right crowd, cos if he doesn't, the likelihood of him getting into trouble is quite high!)

urgh. stressed. Why did mine and hubby's primary school have to close down!?? 😞
