Ok call me paranoid, but even when it's made in Europe and US and state meet this or that standard, I still worry a bit bit, because a standard could just means that at the amt, the chemical or whatever used is at a safe level. But still even at a safe level, I would not want my kids to put it in their mouth, you know what I mean?

Sigh....the world we live in today........

after watching the 2 parts documentary Food Inc, I seriously wonder if there is ever a safe food for us to eat

I do not dare to watch all........will not see meat in the same way. Maybe we should go back to farming

I just hope our bodies can tolerate and not mutate the cells too much
I watched it to remind myself not to eat so much junk food and meat

seems like most of the food we buy here in Singapore are all exported -

meat from Msia, Aust or NZ, veggies from Msia, Japan or China, milk from Msia, NZ or Aust, etc...

(like cannot live without Msia) no offense here

think only eggs we have our own....

We have local veg too, both organic and aeroponic (think that's the spelling but not cheap). But the organic version is slightly cheaper when compared with other organic veg but variety is limited. We also have local mushroom, not the politicized version.

eggs produced locally are not enough to meet the demands so we still need to import from Malaysia

                    sall:

I have a student from China who told me not to eat canned food from China, especially meat products. He said all the meat comes from sick or dead pigs, sometimes, they also use meat from other unidentified animals. He told me the richer Chinese also don't eat them.

the pork balls that are sold there contains dog, cat and other unidentified animals except pig. This was reported in the papers.

I remember one of my friends told me something similar. Her story was that some hawkers caught stray cats in alleys and made them into char siew bao to sell. It put me off eating char siew bao for a long while.

Cos it's cheaper to pack in Malaysia. Also milk packed under different brand names is basically the same except for the pricing. If my memory did not fail me, Everyday Milk and Dumex are produced by same company and basically they are the same. The only difference is their price - one appeal to the mass and the other 'upper' class. ๐Ÿ˜‰

So different companies don't have different formula for their own brands?
