I have a student from China who told me not to eat canned food from China, especially meat products. He said all the meat comes from sick or dead pigs, sometimes, they also use meat from other unidentified animals. He told me the richer Chinese also don't eat them.

the pork balls that are sold there contains dog, cat and other unidentified animals except pig. This was reported in the papers.

I remember one of my friends told me something similar. Her story was that some hawkers caught stray cats in alleys and made them into char siew bao to sell. It put me off eating char siew bao for a long while.

Yup saw that before....I was like...why can't pack in NZ.......[/quote]

Cos it's cheaper to pack in Malaysia. Also milk packed under different brand names is basically the same except for the pricing. If my memory did not fail me, Everyday Milk and Dumex are produced by same company and basically they are the same. The only difference is their price - one appeal to the mass and the other 'upper' class. 😉

So different companies don't have different formula for their own brands?

do you all notice about those papayas imported from Malaysia?

the outer skin is so yellowish and looks ripe but when you press it, it's as hard as those unripe ones :yikes:
