      can you ppl help me with these questions? tanx in advance 😃

      1) Annie and Brenda have some savings each. If Annie spends $60 per day and Brenda spends $180 per day, Brenda will have $360 left when Annie has none. If Brenda spends $60 per day and Annie spends $180 per day, Brenda will have $1320 left when Annie has none. How much savings does Annie has?

      2) Howard has a stack of black cards and a stack of white cards. If he places a black card with a white card, there will be 26 white cards left. If he places a black card with 4 white cards, there will be 58 black cards left. How many cards does he have in all?

      3) When Mr Tan was 50 years old, his daughter was thrice his son’s age. Mr Tan would be thrice as his daughter’s age when his son was 18 years old. How old would Mr Tan be when his daughter was 15 years old?

      4) Flora had thrice as many $10 notes as $50 notes. After spending eight $10 notes, the value of her $50 notes became $580 greater than the $10 notes. What was the value of $10 notes at first?

      5) In a theme park, there are Chinese, Malays and Indians. 400 of the people are Malays and Chinese. If 290 people were not Chinese and 270 were not Malays, how many people were there at the theme park altogether?

      P.S. please dun use model. my teacher prefer units n parts method. thanks in advance. =D

              Hi,

              Propose units solution ...

              Annie\t\tBrenda
              3u\t\t9u +360
              3u\t\t3u + 1320
              6u = 1320 – 360
              1u = 960 ÷ 6 = 160
              Annie has 3 x 160 = 480\t

              😄

                😄
                Annie could not have $480 to begin with. In Scenario 2, Annie spends $180 per day and is left with $0 at the end of N days. $480/$180 = 2 2/3 <> a whole number. So $480 cannot be the answer.
