My husband is an old boy from St. Stephen, and we had a girl. Sorry if this may sounds like a stupid qns, but since St. Stephen is a boy's schools, does that means we had no priority to other Catholic primary schools?

That's right, no priority, ie. not eligible for Phase 2A registration. However, if you or your DH are Catholics, you can register your DD in Phase 2B, at any Catholic school that accepts girls.

Is your child a girl or a boy. If she's a girl, then CHIJ St Nicholas would be the nearest Catholic Girls' School to Bishan, but if your child is a boy, then it is Catholic High School.

And yes, as a Catholic, you are under 2B for all Catholic schools, not necessarily those in Bishan, but chances are there will be balloting if you try for other Catholic schools. Even for St Nicks and Catholic High, be prepared for balloting even if you stay right next to the school.

Phase 2B is also for Parent Volunteers and RC members, so means even if you are a Catholic, you still have to fight for a place with people from those category.

You pretty much have no chance with St Nic since year after year, they have to ballot for those within 1km.

The only one with a chance is CHIJ TP. They have balloting for those outside 2km in phase 2B, so you stand a chance of getting in. But mind you, past history does not guarantee that they will again be balloting for > 2km, especially since there are so many new residential developments around there.

You certainly can try CHIJ TP in P2C if you fail in P2B. However, ask yourself, if you can't get in during P2B, do you think your chance will be higher in P2C? :scratchhead:

Of course there is nothing to stop you from trying your luck with the school again.

Nobody applied under P2CS because all the places were taken up in P2C.

Sounds like a good plan. :celebrate:

But like what BigDevil suggested in the other thread, if you are moving to Bishan, you may want to change the address in your NRIC before July so that you will be considered nearer to CHIJ TP than if your NRIC were still showing your current address.

                        Good Luck! :rahrah:
