What kind of issues one can forsee for 2 siblings going to different school?

1) 2 different sessions especially if the school is dual session and usually P1 will be in the afternoon.

2) Run 2 different schools when come to attend school activities Parents-Teacher-Meeting (P.T.M.)

Above just my 2 cents worth of thought :imcool:

hmmm then it will be whole day ppl r running to drop one then drop another one then get home first one then get another one argh :frustrated:
Bingo! LKVM! So, to save \"future\" problems, I am \"dumping\" DD2 together with DD1 next year to the same school πŸ˜‰ - One Bird Kills 2 Stones - Get Jie Jie to \"look out\" for Mei Mei :snuggles:

To be frank, have the same thinking like you since last year too ....but...but...whenever I recall the :scared: moment sitting in the hall, waiting for the balloting result, my body still shivers! πŸ˜“ πŸ˜“ SO, finally decided drop the idea 死心吧! and can :siam: the waiting anxious moment :stompfeet: :slapshead: :stupid: ....

ya i’m thinking along same lines, that’s why very torn.

i’ll probably sit down and list all the pros and cons then see how? also discussing with Dh…

I think Frontier is single session, so should be similar timing as CPS, but the PTM and other activities could clash.

the other advantage for siblings to be in the same school is that big brother can pass down many things to 2nd one, save a lot…

grrr, still mulling over it.
one impt Q would be CCAs too. i am concerned that for a new sch, since low no. of pupils, and less teachers initially, the CCAs offered may be very limited and may be ds2 won’t like any of them?

Hello Friend :hi5:,
Pass down? Haha...for my case, all my DD1's P1 & P2 textbooks have already been donated out every year πŸ˜„ . And the other reason I did not keep the books is because DD1 has written down many notes on them so I feel \"not fair\" for DD2 to use hands-down and DD2 might take the \"short-cut\", take Jie Jie's written answer and presume she herself already knows the work πŸ˜‰ (My DD2 is a very cheeky type  ) ...That is my own view and approach for my kids.

I got both Xingnan Pri sch and Frontier Pri sch brochures from my DD's kindergarten.
So are you going to Xingnan pri sch Open house?
Which school are you aiming?
Hi Dec, i joined Jurong West Primary as a PV in July 2010 and have completed more than 40 hours of voluntary service at the school so currently only waiting to register my DD on 18 July 2011 under Phase 2B. However, according to the Principal, PV does not guarantee a place in the school. If the number of applicants in Phase 2B is more than available places in 2B, then we might need to ballot. So i think if i'm unsuccessful in Phase 2B, i will consider to register my DD to Xingnan Primary or Frontier Primary as response for Phase 2C in both Jurong West Primary & West Grove Primary are often overwhelming and have a very high tendency of going into balloting again. πŸ˜‰ By the way, which kindergarten is your DD in? My DD'S Kindergarten only give Xingnan Primary brochure.

Hello All,

I \"interrupt\" here to pose the following question cos don't know where else can I do that lah πŸ˜‰

Do you feel that schools around JW areas are not quite accessible via the public transport (and here I am referring to SBS Buses and not taxis πŸ˜‰)

Example 1: If you are staying near Pioneer Mall and your child is studying at Xingnan Pri, how did you go to the school?

Example 2: If you are staying opposite Pioneer Mall (Blk 71+ series to 735), how do you get to Corporation Primary School?

Example 3: If you are staying at JW Central 1 (Blk 68+ series to 69+ series), how did you go to Jurong West Primary School?

The above are just a few examples as I have friends who are not driving (just like me  ) or who are SAHM who need to send/fetch kids to school. Whenever there is a need to be at school (for eg Parent-Teacher-Meet), they will always say,\" so troublesome to change bus, so have to take taxi lor!\"

you have a point there... ds1's books are quite worn. but i still kept last yr's. πŸ™‚ he doesn't write notes lei... his uniform may be able to be passed down too but certainly not shoes! his shoes get worn out every 6mth! so black and dirty too. :frustrated:
