Ya, I heard that laptops have a lifespan of about 3 to 4 years, right? Bought it in early 2008, so looks like it's about time for it to go ....

One will definitely go to LKVM, think the other is either autumnbronze or maybe buds or Augmum. These 3 definitely have more than me at the moment.

By the time I can place a bid it would have gone higher than what I have and I will not be able to bid anymore right? And hence can't get the sharing? Am I right to say that?

Yes, it is THAT predictable. You just have to go and see who has the fattest kitties among those that I have mentioned that you can roughly make a guess as to who the winner would be. I know that LKVM is curently at the top at the moment, but not sure about the other 3 that I have mentioned.

No worries. You have about 8K to 9K plus (if I don't recall wrongly) and that's enough to earn you some KPs for at the first auction on 6 June to add on to what you have for the second auction at the end of June.

There are basically two kinds of KPs that you can earn at each auction.

The first one is called the \"First Valid Bid\" or FVB in short. FVB simply means that your bid must be higher than the one that was previously posted by another member and because you do not have that much in the kitty, you must make sure you get your FVB at the beginning when the bids are still low. The moment the bid goes above what you have in the kitty, you won't be able to earn that FVB.

The second type of \"earning\" comes from the winner's final bid. The final amount would be divided equally among those who registered and participated in that night's auction in order to quality, so mean as long as you place at least one bid on auction night, you get to share the earnings. No show on auction night = no sharing, simple as that.

So generally, those of us who have more in our kitty, would try to push the bid as high as possible, so as to drain out every cent from the winner's kitty that it, so that at the end of the auction, we get a bigger piece of the pie. :evil:

Son was using the the PC, so I was using the laptop, but the internet got cut off all of a sudden .... funny, because there was still internet access on the PC. Beats me why it happened! :stompfeet:
