Hi parents of NHPS children, I am planning to send my boy to this school next yr but I am very concerned about the quality of the teachers, and management, after the change of P. Can anyone advise me pls?
I also heard from a friend who’s girl is there that NHPS is one of the primary schools that don’t have exams in P1 and P2, so there’s no way they could assess their child’s progress and knowledge. I also observe some admin staff (I know they don’t contribute directly to education but their attitude does affect the students) are unhelpful and curt to students who come into the office. Plus, anyone has up close correspondence with the VP or P or any of the teachers and any good feedback to share?
I am very concerned cos we put in a lot of effort to try to send him to this school but lately seemed to observe negative things. Thanks so much… -
Hi all,
Would like to get some feedback on the newly setup Student Care Center in NHPS. Does anyone has the timetable? What kind of food is served? Also does the school has proper bathroom for shower purpose?
Thanks in advance! -
Hi parents,
I would like to know some advise on Parent Volunteer application.
1) I would be moving house in 2012 near the school. I understand that the application form has to fill in address, do i have to indicate that i will be moving house in 2012 and the new address?? Will they take into consideration of the address when applying the PV scheme?
2) Can i apply like 2 schools for Parent volunteer in case got rejection from 1 of the desired school?

To dearest parents whose children in NHP,
I have read through all the threads here. I realised that no one has replied to the concerns some of the parents had raised on the current management and teaching staffs of NHP.
I’m a concerned mum too. I’m now making decision whether I should put my child in the school in two years time. Can any kind mums or paps please tell us how is the standard of the teaching staffs and principal. i read through the PSLE results and realised that the results are showing decreasing trend compared to 2008. In 2010, about 75% of the students from foundation program make it to secondary school comapred to 100% in 2008. Should I be concern?
I have a colleague whose son (P5) and daugthers (P3) are in the school. But he had transferred them out this year. He mentioned that quite a number of good credible teachers had left the school. I remembered in one of the threads one parent mentioned that the teachers left due to push factor. Oh my god!!! Please help us, concerned party to understand what has been going on in this school so that for those who have not sent their children there can find alternatives. Thank you very much. -
oh gosh… 75% made it to sec school in 2010? so the remaining 25% didn’t?what about 2009? care to englighten?

It’s 80% for 2009 posted to secondary school. 2008 and 2007 are 100%. I don’t know about the rest of the 20%+ students. I’m hoping some parents of NHP can enlighten us. I’m concerned too. NHP had been consistently keeping 100% since 2005 till 2008.

Hi zoolet,
You may have misinterpreted the stats. The 75% is refering to the 3 out of 4 kids under Foundation Programme. I believe the Foundation Programme is referring to the old EM3 band. Otherwise, 100% of the 290 kids successfully promoted to Sec 1.
