      Hi Tim Tim

I need your expertise and advice on this. I have just moved house and changed the address on my NRIC. Hence it is not the same as the current address recorded in Grassroot Connect for priority registration. Are we still able to change the address in Grassroot Connect ? The application will be rejected if the address in Grassroot Connect and NRIC is different.
      Hi dada,

You can't change the address in the GC system. By the way, just wonder why you decide to change the address on your NRIC at this juncture before getting the letter? Can't wait? Now may be tricky. But does you still stay within the same GRC/SMC? In your case, an appeal to PA may be required.

nothing to do with the system. each NC/RC will determine who is eligible before they enter into the system mah.
Huh? You mean the NC/RC chairman holds the power to determine who is eligible and he must enter the info into the system. What if the chairman is lazy or don't know how to use IT and didn't input into the system?

hi, am a newbie. though my child is only 2.5yo. but i am alrdy planning to join RC member and do PV nearer to date if i confirm which sch i prefer my child to go.

          pls advise me on these:
          1) i will need to go my nearest RC to obtain an application form to apply to be RC member? (eg. my nric is acb address, but the sch which i prefer is in another location, so where i should register myself as a RC member in order to help my child in phase 2b2?)

          2) if i sucessfully register as a RC member, minimum i must stay active is how many years? (i must start registering now?) (is it confirmed apply for RC member, u can get? or they must see what r u able to contribute?) if not like, any "tom dick harry" also can be RC member loh)

          3) if being an RC member already, am i still required to do PV nearer to date to obtain a better chance for my child to get in? or it makes no difference "1 RC member" and "PV title" = same 1 chance only? if say, 1 chance only=dun waste time to do both? what say u? pls advise.

hope to hear from experienced parents soon! tks much!

No, RC/NC's Chairman does not have the power or means to do so. It's the PA staff/system that tracks eligibility.

Question - Does anybody knows how and or when the GC updates the current address ??? Isn't the system suppose to auto update whenever there is a change in NRIC details ???

                Found dada's question interesting.

                A) If the address on the NRIC now is different from the one stated in the letter and both addresses are not in the same GRC, that means this GRL is no longer staying in the GRC where he served for the past year. Will the school accept his application in the first place since he is now no longer a member of the same GRC as the school?

                B) But if the address on the NRIC now is different from the one stated in the letter but both addresses falls within the same GRC except maybe different NC, is there a chance for the school to accept his application because he is still a member of the same GRC?

                šŸ˜„

I also find it interesting. In any case, if still stays within the same GRC/SMC, problem is smaller, should be ok with some admin or explanation.

Typically I would rather remain status quo, to avoid all the hassles... esp since it's already such a hassle to get the P2B letter.
But if already changed... then better find the right person(s) - PA or school, to clarify and do the neccessary changes to avoid any last min surprises.

                    :celebrate:

                        A) Not likely to shift further away from the school which reduces chances of getting into the desired school. As for school, I believe they will process accordingly as the person met the criteria and was issued the P2B letter.
                        B) The school should accept the letter for P2B but not sure whether will they take into consideration that he is shifting nearer to school as the letter indicated old address.

Changing address is probably due to moving nearer to school, wondering whether does anybody knows who/how the GC updates our addresses.
