Funz:

Haha. You ladies.

Yah most peranakans are rather particular about the ingredients. If my mum were to try the kuehs that I make, she will say not gd enough cos I use pre packed coconut milk, not fresh coconut milk.

is always a prob (at least for me, dunno u ladies) buying fresh coconut milk,
ever once, happily found a stall in a wet market which sells the fresh grated coconut,
after brought home, it had turned sour........
think they din clean their machine thoroughly.

Funz:

Nonya kueh considered cake? Been making so many western style bakes, thought I will switch gear and get in touch with one half of my roots.

Kueh Salat, turned out a bit more like Kueh Salah, think I losing touch with my roots liao. The glutinous rice part was nice but the top, well think the recipe needs to be tweaked. Edible but not fantastic.

Funz.......i am so excited seeing yr kueh salat..... :please:

i had tried making this nonya kueh long ago....,
but i am NOT satisfied with it as the the top part dun taste like those bot fr bangawan.....
and also problem getting fresh coconut milk.

u said that yr recipe needs to be tweaked,
may i know why u are not satisfly with, or what do u think can be improved?
