IMO, wii is more child friendly whereas xbox & PS3 are targeted at older kids and those young at heart.

Agree. My impression is also that more of the wii games are targeted towards family and younger children.

We have both kinect n wii. For kinect, no remotes are needed and are good for exercise, sports n dance games since the kinect is able to track body movements.

For wii, we use for games like Mario Kart and it's a lot more fun with the steering wheel. Kids below 10 may also like Donkey Kong which is a noisy racing game and have to shake the wii remote like crazy to max the speed. For older kids, i find Zack n Wiki to be a great puzzle game as it requires creative problem solving. Super Mario Galaxy is also a great game as they have fun visiting the many 'worlds' within the game. Other games we found fun are the Lego series, eg Star Wars n Indiana Jones. To play the storyboard mode and advance through the chapters, kids below 10 may need some parental help.
