Talking about hearing problem, my son has selective hearing problem.

When me and my dh were discussing about holiday program at one corner of the living room, my ds could hear our whole discussion clearly. The next moment, when I asked him to finish up his school assigment, he couldn't hear any single word. I he to walk to his front and then he could hear me. Hear me doesn't mean had will do it, I have to nag then he will do. Situation turns worse when my ds is in p3 this year where his workload increases.

And the \"selective listening syndrome\" will worsen over time, esp. reaching and after teen. Maybe by then, our \"nagging syndrome\" will also reduce since no one is listening anymore :laugh:

you all correct! I am also a naggy mother! we don’t be like that and our chidren as well.My son told me don’t tell to me what I need to do.I said if you do yourself then why I need to tell you.I wish he study himself for him not for me.I want him to know his responsibility.I discuss with him like what is teachers responsiblity,he said they teach us until we die.This kind of talking make me more angry.I try to explain my responsiblity and my DH responsiblity.I told him your res. is study so study.I scared If we push up to where? From sec1 onwards they have to study.My nephew excellent boy,now in A/L he didn’t want to study as he felt very hard and didn’t want to do hardwork.

I explained to DS numerous of times abt individual responsibility and his too. ENd of the day, my DS right ear in, left ear out. What to do, so begin nagging hoping one day it will go into his brain.
