      AHEM!!!

ahem, we are not. just helping Vivian with more excuses

actually he quite poor thing la...just in time to catch the 'bomb'... 😉[/quote]yes and no. he wasn't just elected this round. he was already a minister when the flood happened last year. we should expect any minister to know a thing of two about any other ministry because the PM can rotate them to any ministry to suit certain purposes. eg you don't have to be a doctor to be health minister. at minister level, it is how you analyse info provided to you, whether you ask for the right info from the right places and make the right comments / judgements on issues of the day

he could have seen and heard all this comments and complaints

he could have made a difference by not singing the old tune

sorry there is no excuse for being new on the job. he has been in the government long enough

look at Khaw - he wasn't a city planner, he was a doctor ..... and so far he has managed to avoid land mines ...... ( i am not a fan of Khaw )

some kind soul please tell me, i think my england is bad, can a flood alert prevent the flood ? like suddenly an army of people sweeping the water to another drain ? or just telling you to move your car and furniture so they are not floated away but the flood is still there?

i think we want to know what cause the flood, and how come it has returned all of a sudden over the last two years ?

please solve the root cause of the flood. no use fixing the sensors.

it is blatantly obvious that the run-off conduits and drains from the road surface to the big drain is too small and has been clogged and made worse by all the covered drains from the road surface leading to the main drain

i noticed they are busy digging and clawing out the sediments and dried leaves from underneath the drain covers.....stop all these cover up

IN A matter of minutes during Sunday's heavy storm, Stamford Canal at Orchard Road was overwhelmed.

So was the PUB's water level sensor software, which sends out SMS flood alerts to building owners in flood-prone areas. The national water agency said it would fix the computer program, add sensors upstream of Stamford Canal and review the sensor system and alert service.

I’m fairly blur about these usually, but one thing I noticed. Each time after a flood, they will issue warnings about possible storms and floods in the following days…and then it goes all sunny. A bit the suay hor.

Is flood prevention included in PUB/Ministry’s KPI?

                    Doubt so…
If it is… perhaps can review their salaries based on each flood incident?
Deduct their pay till no more flooding?
