I heard that the P3 SA 1 exam dates are spread out instead of continuously for 4 days. Is this true?

Is it because of the General Elections? the mother tongue exams were posponed because of that.

How spread out were the exams ? Son's exams at P3 then were spread out over 2 months...for eg orals in April, then EL/CL compo in early May followed by Paper 2 in end May. It was a torture and I lost stamina just before his Paper 2.

Really? 2 months is very long u know. Which means if it started in april it would have ended in june... coz if any earlier the SA1 would have clashed with the CA1 if any... 🀷

It was just :siao: back then. CNY weekends were spent revising for CA1. After March hols, revision begins for SA1. In a way, it wasn't so bad revising for SA1. But my stamina went flat before the paper 2...just couldn't breathe.
Anyway, other parents complained and now the time frame is shortened.

I know. CNY holidays are meant for ppl to go visiting and stuff but if the CA1 clashes with the festival, then it's not so fun anymore. 😒

First day of CNY was for visiting...2nd day was for revision. At lower primary-P3, 1 month of revision b4 SA is sufficient.

Yeah... When I was P2, I did little or no revision and scored like...97 πŸ˜“ but when I was P3 I didn't know the exams were so hard. I revise very little and my Math grades kena dropped to 50 something. 😒 :wrongmove: :spank:

                      Hi PlatypusMeowMeow,

The first dip is at P3 and next is at P5.
My son did reasonably well in P2, but at P3 he experienced the first shock...subjects like Maths & Eng was tougher and there was Science which he just didn't know how to answer.
I think my daughter doesn't need to wait till P3 in IJ to experience this. IJ TP has proven that in the first review at P1 😒

                      Mummies with daughters in P2/3,
Do you find that IJ standard is not the norm ? The expectation is pretty high.

Science at P3 is a new curriculum to most P1/P2. It is a testing time for most children and P3 maths needs more logical thinking.
P3 is also the year where most school \"academic streaming\" actually started. For some parents it is also the year of reckoning .. the GEP streaming.
