My girl which is in sec one this year, she has difficulty in chemistry.

There are 2 questions that she don’t know how to answer.

      1. When magnesium burn in the air a compound form, what is the name of the compound?

      2. Which element in the air combine with magnesium to form the compound?

Hope that someone helps to solve these two questions…

      Regards,

        Hi…

        1. Magnesium Oxide

        2. Oxygen

Usually for combustion/burning questions…the element combining with the substance in question is oxygen. Hence an oxide is form. This type of chemical reaction is both a combustion reaction and a combination reaction.

Magnesium + Oxygen gas - Magnesium Oxide

        Hopes this help…

            Hi parents,

I'm looking to enroll my dd for practical lab lessons (chemistry) at the Singapore Institute of Science near Boon Keng mrt.

I wanted my dd to get some lab experience before taking the O-levels this year.

Does anyone have know about SIS?

            :please:

                Hi,

I'm currently looking for tuition lessons for my DD who will be in Yr4 IP in 2017. Can be either private tutor or small group tuition at reasonable rate.

We are staying in the East and she's a Cedarian.

Greatly appreciate any recommendations available please 😄

                TIA !! :rahrah:

My DD's chem teacher helps a lot. She teaches in really small group in a tuition centre at Rochor. They have several chem teachers with strong teaching background. One of them is from IP school if I'm not wrong. You may have a try if you are still looking for.

My children are currently taking math classes with Mr Zhou at Nicklebee tutors (http://www.nicklebeetutors.com). He teaches Sec 3 IP maths to my daughter and P6 GEP maths to my son. His math classes are all full but you can try joining the science/chemistry group classes conducted by his colleague who is an ex-JC chemistry teacher.

Hello! My son just took his O levels last year and is very happy when he just got back his results in January. He was failing his chemistry and mathematics very badly as his class in school very fast so he cannot catch up. I found out about apt tuition lab from this forum and decided to let my son try. Both the chemistry and mathematics teachers were very patient with him and their class size very small so very good for my son. In the end he went from E8 to A2 for both subjects. Even though not A1 but it’s still a very big improvement so both of us very happy. highly reccommend this tuition centre in serangoon.
