Kinderland

Hi,
I would like to share my experience in kinderland serangoon. My son was enrolled there few years back from pre-nursery to K2. He was blessed with very good Principal & teachers (in terms of professionalism & being caring). But like one of the posts mentioned, there was a period when many good teachers left, some rather abruptly. Now, my son has already graduated from Kinderland Serangoon, I’m think of withdrawing my girl from there. Though she enjoyed her time in the kindergarten, I find that her current teachers are not very professional. Previously, when my son was absent from school or many days (MC), his teachers will gladly pass me the homework for me to work with him at home. They will also find time to teach him the things he missed out when he was absent. I find that my daughter’s current teachers are not so open & helpful. When I asked for the classwork to be done on the days when she was absent, they brushed it off, saying "it’s ok, don’t worry, i will help her in class." When she brought back her work at the end of the term, there was many incomplete work and they were all marked "absent". I suspect they don’t do much in class also. My girl said they were always playing in the corner, and the teacher always brings them out to play in the hot sun. One thing I cannot accept is that, for convenience, the teacher even told them no need to wash hands before eating, just clean with tissue!!! That has never happened during my son’s time. I find that the management is also very defensive.
In conclusion, though kinderland has been around for along time, and they have some impressive programmes like their music and reading/writing programme, they are not worth the steep fees they are charging, simply because the staff are not professional enough. -

Hi, i am very new here and would like to know and hear comments about Kinderland YCK. My son is only ready for pre-nursery in 2013 but lots of branded nurserys are full or on waitlist…

Hi postpet. Which year was your son born? Mine's in 2010 and recently we went to visit Kinderland YCK. My initial impressions are: big compound and pretty organised activities. Have enrolled him for next year's CC. -

I think Kinderland is quite good for mainstream type of kindergarten. MMI is if you prefer montessori. Anyway, kinderland is really big. They have good learning centres for the children. I’ve seen it before. Very detailed, very organised. If you like the idea of learning centres, choose kinderland. If you prefer montessori curriculum, MMI is suited for your child

hi there
i have also enrol my girl in Kinder YCK. starting in March 2011!
intend to let her try the 3 hours playclasses first then maybe convert her to full day?
any one does this? or straightaway put them into full day CC? she will be 20 months in March 2011.
according to Kinder YCK, year 2013, its a must to go for full day CC or if not have to change to the preschool beside YCK. is there no half day available? -
hihi, any feedbacks on pre-school at woodlands civic centre? seems like not much comments…
