      TENNISMOM:
I became SAHM last year when my kids were already BIG, like 12 years and 10 years. But I can tell they prefer their mommy to be a SAHM instead of flying around here and there for business. I surprised myself being able to adapt to domesticity so easily, fortunately I still have a part-time maid who comes to help me with housework, otherwise I would hate it. I miss my work but domestic bliss is also good. My hubby gives me half my last drawn pay as spending allowance and I get to keep my car and long holidays are not cut (yet) but I find he is now making decisions without 'consulting' me eg changing his car.

ay ayeeee.....you sound like Tai tai
still have part-time maid, still have allowance, still got car & long holidays ....
I also not bad lah......I am the maid, i dig my allowance from savings, i got 2 'kar' and I got looooonnngggg holidays. :rotflmao:

            Hi SAHM_TAN,

My son asked me why I haven't worn a dress for a long time. I told him practical clothes like jeans and tees are more appropriate. However, as kids are bigger now and no need to be carried, I can wear nicer looking tops with jeans.
Me too, 99.9% in tees/jeans/bermudas/sandals. On a number of occasions, my 5yo told me, \"girls wearing high heels look nicer\". And on one evening I wore a skirt cos going for wedding dinner, my 3yo stared at me and said \"today is very special, right?\"

I agree. SAHMs like myself usually wear very casual. Wear nice nice for who to see? But I make sure I dress up abit and put on make-up whenever go out with DH and DD. SAHMs also don't have to look like 'huang lian po' (pale-faced housewives) right? Must let our hubby know that we are presentable as well as efficient as homemaker. πŸ˜‰

My consolation, my DH also jumped to XL :rotflmao:

                    Hi!

My son wants to go to nice restaurants and visit overseas(me also). We can't afford to this.I told him we save money for your future studies(currently we couldn't save also as we are renting and my husband go low salary). He is 9 yo kid and very difficult to understand.I didn't buy new nice clothes for more than 3 years.
My son likes to eat at nice restaurants like Cartel or Swensens. It's not possible to eat there often but once a while like after his exams or birthdays. Explained to him that his tuition is impt and they are expensive, but there is no choice for the time being.

I lost a lot of weight when I was bf my younger one then...could eat like crazy after each time I expressed but calories were lost the next round. Anyway, the weight stuck on me after I stopped expressing...they refused to say goodbye 😒

I don't think it matters how old the kids are when one of the parents decide to stay home full time. The kids and parent who stay at home will benefit.
