I also hardly do shopping for myself. Have been using my sis hand-me-downs. It's not that I can't afford to buy, just don't like to shop. Tried to go shopping for myself but always end up in supermarket or bookstore.


Thanks everyone for sharing. We are all in the same boat. We are all doing our duties as a mother and a wife. Like the Bible says, there is a time for everything. We do what we have to do now. After all, what do we want a family for, right?

I am lazy to shop for clothes too...I always get polo shirts since it's more presentable than round-neck tees. Pair it off with a pair of jeans, and I am ready to go out.

When we do go to Orchard, a lot of times we end up going home empty-handed. If I pick up a bedsheet, I'll ask myself is it necessary. The answer is no. After 1-2 trips to town, I find that I have nothing to get...might as well stay at home to relax. I prefer to go to IMM where there is Popular, Esprit outlet and Bossini.

You're right, janet_lee88... I was just there yesterday.

Better weekdays tho cause not crowded at all.. can at least
feel the aircon and as the ad says, IMM is one mall with
13 factory outlets which you've managed to list a few.
If one doesn't mind past season's stocks which are
offered at worthy discounts, it's reali a steal.

The free parking for first three hours is attractive
for those who drive.. and for those who don't,
there's shuttle service provided as well.

I too will consider over a hundred times if I were to
purchase something..especially if it's for myself.
But if to buy kids' stuff or books from Popular
I can really lose myself.. to time and $! :moneyflies:

Yes, the other day I was at Popular for 2 hours. I was still :yikes: when I saw the total, even with the discount voucher. And I thought I control very well liao.......

I bought my Coach from Isetan.

When it comes to buying assessment from Popular, I will definitely lose myself in that section...esp every March/June/Dec, when there are better discounts than 20%. Also can't control myself when I see nice and worth buy clothes for kids. Sometimes I go to Esprit outlet to check out tees which are below $10.

I only use sunblock (a must), lip balm, lipstick and powder foundation, that's all. As SAHMs, we tend to revolve around our hubby and kids and liekly to neglect ourselves, in terms of health and appearance. So it's vital that we exercise (so as to maintain our weight and keep fit), and not forgetting that occasional (some may have regular if budget allows) facial and massage treats.

Angelight, How much make up do you use. I'm down to just lipstick. Used to use foundation and powder and blusher but too lazy now.

Somehow, do you guys sometimes feel that as a caregiver, we give and give and it's like our looks don't really matter much. How do you motivate yourself to look good despite all the cooking, chores, kids studies, etc ?

Oh yes, and i spray perfume too whenever I go out...I'm a perfume collector.

I must apply lipstick, sunblock and perfume before going out...that is a must. The other thing I insist on is a branded bag once a while. Oh yes, I have a weakness for mobile phone too

:lol: :lol: understand, understand.....My DH spurlges on plants. I look at this way. He's working hard to earn money for the family, (of course we also work hard for the family), so as long as he control his spending, I will let him have his de-stresser.
