Anybody has any info on SJIJr & ST Anthony’s? Need info if these 2 schools provide support for returning overseas students from overses eg immersion programme?
We r in DUbai and need to register son online next year to ‘chope’ a place in the sch. As PV is out of the question, we can only got to Phase 2B being Catholics. No Catholic schools in West Coast area. These 2 are the closest to my SGP address. -
I can’t decide.
which one:
Maris Stella or SJIJ?
Maris Stella is nearer to the house we are thinking to buy, qualified for 2B,SJIJ farther, but not very far, qualified for 2A2. -
smurf:
How do you qualify under 2A2 for SJI Junior? Must you be an ex-student of the school or does old boys of SJI count?I can't decide.

You sound like someone I (& hubby) met. Were you & hubby at MSH around 11am on the 2nd day of Phrase 2B registration? Did you eventually pull out of SJIJ & got into MSH? Hope we can meet again on Orientation day.I can't decide.

Hi
Can anybody share what is the difference between catholic school and normal school? does catholic school have additional subjects for religious study? besides practising morning prayers, are there more benefits?
I’m thinking of sending my girl to Holy Innocents in Hougang, however it’s slightly far from where I stay now. That’s why i’m considering if it’s worthwhile to send her there… -
If you are a non-catholic then it won’t make much difference to your daughter. When its time for bible studies, she will do another subject; from memory I think it’s moral education or something like that.
She is not requried to pray or do anything outside of her own reglioious beliefs.
However catholic schools from my experience focus on personal growth as well as academics and physical abilities.
An all girls school is also a great environment to develop independence & leadership skills in girls
My family & extended family of girls all went to a catholic girls school for over 3 generations so this form of education and school is valued highly by our families.
Hope this helps. -

could you kindly elaborate on this point? :? -
Hi Catherine,
thank you for your advice.
My daugther is a Catholic, so I believe she would benefit for the bible study at school. Is this only once a week? The church that we go to also has weekly catecism class, I wonder if they are the same.
Do you think that all girls Catholic school is good for her personal development? I came from a mixed school background, and I always thought that having both girls and boys at school is better as it will teach them how to interact with different sexes.
Do you feel differently?
thanks
