We should start an Obedient Children Club instead.

But my personal position is that a wife should obey, but not be subservient, to the husband. I won't marry a man if I cannot accept his leadership or trust him to be able to make the correct decision and lead us as the head of the household. The husband should love and cherish his wife.

If a wife should obey, isn't it the same as being subservient? That is , taking all his orders, reasonable or unreasonable, without question, without argument. A husband should not be the only one making decision or leading the family. The wife plays an equally important role.
In my case, dh is very very busy at work, out-station most of the time, so I decide on all matters, I don't even ask him. He just needs to finance my decision.

Being obedient and submissive to the husband does not mean that the wife plays a less important role. Both the head and the neck are of equal importance but have different roles. Leadership is not just about decision making. There is nothing wrong for a wife to make certain decisions on her own, esp if it pertains to matters in which she has greater expertise. But the husband should be able to provide the general direction and leadership for the family. There is nothing subservient about accepting someone's leadership. I'm most inspired by the life of Queen Victoria, and how she submitted to her husband despite being the monarch reigning over the largest empire at the time. They had 1 of the happiest and most loving marriage of all times.
I have a fren who is very good at steering the decision to her original objective. She gives the impression of being lead but she is actually leading. It is a form of art in action when she brings this to her relationship with her DH. She's a very nice person and wants the best for her family and stand by her friends. It's quite amazing to see her in action.

Sometimes I'm very angry with ds ...... but I just swallowed my temper. One day, I'll surely put my foot down. One day, one day ..... just he waits ..... gek-sim.

same thoughts :hi5:

Why is it coming more in daddies, as they have soft spots for kid ?
Each time kid misbehaves, makes this mummy angry and naturally my dh will side me and pass the punishment to the kids.....however shortly after when the kids know they have to guai guai ting hua, then dear daddy will give way and give in.
Macham this mummy very xiao qi liddat :slapshead:

Hi rosemummy, to be obedient and submissive simply mean to take orders from husband without question.

My mum is very obedient and submissive to her husband. And of course, her husband took advantage of that, went out to womanize since young, and he’s still doing it now, even though he’s in his seventies. The most cruel thing is he boasts to my mum about his numerous girlfriends, ordered my mum to iron his clothes as he’s going out with his girlfriends… So my mum, being so obedient, did what he ordered. Of cos, she cried and cried. And she’s still suffering now. An obedient and submissive wife only means she won’t dare to ask for a divorce, that’s it.
I grow up watching how my father bullied my mum, of cos, he treated his children equally badly. But my mum never dared to fight back. This is the result of being so obedient and submissive.
What about asking the husband to be obedient and submissive instead?

From my perspective, a wife can be obedient when the husband is an excellent decision maker.I like that. But nowadays, wifes are well educated. They know how to think, they cannot be keep quite if husband do something wrong or make wrong decision. For me,I like to be submissal wife. But my husband discuss with me when take major decision. But his decision is final decision.Sometimes he refuse to hear my view.

I'm not advocating that a wife should take instruction from her husband even if it's to advance his unreasonable acts like infidelity. I'm not saying that a wife should submit to abuses. That's why I said that a husband should love and cherish his wife. Both parties to a marriage have a part to play. That's why it's important to marry the right man, 1 whom you can accept his leadership because you know he will love and
cherish his wife.

I agree with you. I think deep inside every woman, we want a man who can provide leadership. Many a times, it's hard to say who's a better decision maker. All of us tends to think that our decision is better than the 1 we disagree with. That's why it's necessary for someone to be the leader and make the final decision.

I think the OWC is geared more towards pleasing the husband in every sense. Not just in decision making but also in bed. When, how many times, where all up to the husband’s calling. Might as well buy a robot and human size balloon, why go through the trouble to set up the club?

Yes. That's why while I agree that a wife should obey her husband, I don't agree with what the OWC is advocating, like being a first class prostitute. A couple should please each other and have all their sexual needs satisfied within the marriage.

All types of obedient clubs just dont make sense to me :boogie:

I dont want my kids/ husband to obey me ALL the time or the other way round .. we are not perfect lah ... so decisions cannot be one way ALL the time or we will all become tyrant :nunchuk:
