My DS2 is UK Year 1 (or Singapore K2). In September he starts Year 2 (Singapore P1). I have used Singapore books on DS1, who is the more clever, but was able to start on P1 books in K2 year.

Are there any good prep worksheets in K2 English as he is good at reading (decoding words) and poor at understanding. He compelted the Pter and Jane Series in March.

Or should I proceed with P1 worksheets in Comp, Vocab and Grammar?

I feel that having a good foundation in reading is crucial. If child can read, he/she can handle English as well as Math problem sums...and I'm talking about P1. Maths is a play of words.
K2 Eng is more or less P1 work (first half of the year). You may want to proceed with P1 worksheets for grammar & vocab.

This was my worry last year...and still is..even though daughter is in P1. She is very petite and looks more like K1/2. Fortunately, the teachers/principal walk around during recess. I have also reminded her to speak out if anyone bullies her and not be afraid.
Just before term 2 ended, she was bullied by a girl from P6  Fortunately, the act was committed in front of a camera and that girl was caught. My daughter told me about it...and reminded me not to ask her form teacher as 'case is settled'.

Oh my...how to settle such case? Is it true, there are more bullies in girls school? my girl just don't know how to defend herself. have to keep reminding her not to be afraid n speak out.

best is to immediately inform the form teacher if possible... let the teacher do the probing...

but then if after being lectured by the teacher, wont the notty student repeat his/her acts again...

also cant help thinking abt this point

I also worried for my DD on this issue. Might let her take martial arts for self defence.
