Thanks, sall & LKVM.
I prefer mixed sch, but my DH prefer girl sch… He also think that CHIJK is academically better than the other two.
I tried to argue that fetching DD to and fro will be a concern next time when there is CCA as we don’t have a direct bus to CHIJK. Still, he want to stick to CHIJK. So I hope that the mummies & daddies here can convince him loh… >.< -

Hi polyonyx, sorry I have to disagree with your DH again. In terms of standard and activities offered by these 3 schs, CHIJK is not better. My dd's pri sch is GESPS, I also have the chance to look at the activities and worksheets, exam papers offered by the other 2 schs. They are about the same. Seems like ZDPS is very near your house, it'll be much more convenient for your dd next time when she's in upper pri and has to stay back for activities. Thanks, sall & LKVM.

Yes, CHIJ on paper look extremely quite a good performer. The location of CHIJ (Kellock) is not so ideal as it is situated at the other end to enter.
I’m also evaluating to put DD in CHIJ (Kellock) on the fact that I can register DD in RMPS. -
any comment on Radin Mas and CHIJ Kellock? Both are near my house with 1KM. Thanks

Radin Mas & CHIJ (Kellock) are the popular schools in Bt Merah area. Both are equally good just that one of them is a co-ed school.

Dear all , the time has come for us to register DD for P1 soon …
Our choices are RVPS and CHIJ Kellock…
1. RVPS - I was an old boy so almost certain my DD will get a place … However it is a bit further from our home … She probably got to take school bus to and fro
2. CHIJ Kellock - within 1-2km away so can probably walk home but no certainty of a place and it seems to be competitive these days for between 1-2km
Actually my most pressing concern is my DD is extremely shy and withdrawn and dosen’t dare to talk much or speak up in kindergarten … And she might be a bit lacking in self confidence and slow to learn new things so I reckon a less stressful and more loving and caring environment may be better for her development …
Can I hear some views regarding the better choice for us please?
Appreciate your help in advance -
Since you are an old boy of RVPS, you should place the bet on RVPS which is confirm 100% to get in. CHIJ (Kellock) in past balloting history balloting only happened for those staying more than 2km.
Guess your DD be it in RVPS or CHIJ (Kellock) she would have to open up & expand her network of friends. This is a learning process that every child have to learn.
Just my 2 cents worth of opinion. -

Agree with you that CHIJ (Kellock) also do not have any direct bus to reach. Bus services that pass through are Bus Services: 61, 124, 143, 166. I stay Bt Merah also zero buses to go there :imdrowning:Thanks, sall & LKVM.

Thanks for your advice ... Appreciate it ... But between RVPS and CHIJ kellock , may I know which is less stressful and less taxing ? In all schools, the programme are under the scrutiny of MOE. They should be about the same. I don't think it's possible to say which sch is less stressful. If your child is very shy, it'll be better to put her in a mixed sch so she'll get to mix with both boys and girls.
