      I need to offload...

I know of someone who has applied for a popular school under Phase 2C and within 1km, using the address of her apartment that is currently being rented out. This school will definitely ballot within 1km!!

What's worse is she has no intention to move in there but rather is looking for another place nearby to the school but it may not be within 1km after all!!

What will you do if you knew of such cases? I'm sure this is not the first, nor last. 😐

If she has not intention to move in, the kid will be transferred out after 2 years.

            FAQ from MOE

I have purchased a yet-to-be completed property and should be moving in after the property is completed, can I make use of the new home address for the purpose of registration?

Yes. The new home address can be used provided that you are able to produce evidence from the relevant authority that you have committed to the purchase of this property. In the case of private property, parents must produce the original copy of the Sales and Purchase Agreement. The date of commitment by the developer in T.O.P (Temporary Occupation Permit) must not be later than 31 Dec 2011.In the case of HDB flat, the document issued by the HDB. Parents must move into the new property within two years of the child’s entry into Primary One otherwise the child will be transferred out of the school.

Dizzyguy, r u responding to my post?

Just to clarify that she has used an address of an existing property, ie TOPed and rented out to someone else. MOE does random checks only and highly likely would never find out!!

I would wait to see if she gets the place. If she doesn't, case closed. If she does, I will report her to MOE.

Yes, I am responding to your post.

If you use the address to register the children, you should move in within 2 years.

                        This is my best guess.

Don’t gamble your children education. Not worth taking the risk.

Move in if you can. Notify the tenant your intentions. 2 years is sufficient.
Tenancy agreement normal is 1 + 1 year.

That’s why 2 years is the allowance period.

Correct me if i am wrong.
