... Actually I read through this thread and my reason for posting there is to hear from parents who have already gone through the whole process and successfully have children in that school

And there's nothing wrong with that, except it will be useful to keep discussions on the process of getting into the schools within this Forum so that we can keep the other Forum for purely for more specific discussions about the level of homework, quality of the teaching staff, homework, etc. Thanks! -
Maris Stella High School (Pri) actually post the registration status under Phase 2C 'live' on their website. After this morning's session, the status is as follows :
No. of Vacancies : 97 (I thought it is stated as 96 on MOE's website)
Applicants
Within 1km : 27
1 to 2km : 29
Outside 2km : 12
Balance : 29

Sigh... I am in the same shoe as you. Looks like balloting within 1-2km will be more competitive than previous years. Hopefully it doesn't go down to <1km where we will have no chanceI'm also one of the stressed mummy going to register my son under phase 2C nxt week. This is really 1st time that MSH goes into balloting for Phase 2B...according to one of my frend who's a PV, she said the raise in popularity could be due to the circle line which makes it really convenient for the students. In actual fact MSH only accept a small no. of PV every year coz they've a large pool of existing n devoted PV. Thus, the 'big' no. in phase 2B could be attributed by the no. of grassroot leaders who hv registered their kids.
Historically, MSH does not hv to conduct balloting for 2C (within 1km), but mine is 1-2km...l hope I won't hv a sleepless night on the day before the balloting.

aaadaddy…thanks for the info. I went for the registration yesterday and generally parents there for the registration are staying nearby, have seen quite a couple of them who have forgotten to bring some documents and came back with them within a short time. Genuinely hope that these parents will be able to secure the place for their kids. As for us, let fate decide on whether our kids are really ‘meant’ for the school. Best of luck to you!

Anyone has info for Pei Chuan under phase 2C as of today, including the breakdown by distance. Thanks

hugeclaw - thank you but I guess I dun need it now. Sad story for me. Originally sold my flat in Sengkang and planning to buy a condo in Serangoon area (ideally within 1km to MSHS). However, failed to do so as asking prices are high and banks' valuation are low = very high cash over valuation required.
Was originally planning to activate plan B which is to register my child using my in-laws' address as foster parents. Was hoping to let them take care of my child until we buy our place there. However, we went down to MOE today where they did not even allow us to do the SD, stating that the foster parents must 'all along' be taking care of the child. They will not accept if you started only recently or if you are planning for the future. They insisted that I should register using my Sengkang address even though I have sold it (pending resale completion) ie. a temporary address and subsequently move to my in-laws place in Serangoon. Guess I have mistime the whole thing. :stupid:
I am out of contention for MSHS now or should I say almost out
since as at today, there are 21 fighting for 5 places outside 2km now. I reckon when registration close tomorrow, those outside 2km will not have a chance.
Wishing you all the best. The only thing I can do is to get myself into the waiting list and move within 1km to the school while waiting for vacancy to be offered to me before transferring my child there. -
Since I had mentioned it, here is the end of day update from MSHS posted at 4.30pm today :
No. of Vacancies : 97
Applicants
Within 1km : 47
1 to 2km : 45
Outside 2km : 21
Balance : -16
Balloting for outside 2km
21 will ballot for 5 places
I believe at least 5 more applications for those living between 1-2km will apply tomorrow which means balloting will be for those living between 1-2km only.
Good luck to parents who have applied.
