Yes, I am responding to your post.

If you use the address to register the children, you should move in within 2 years.

      This is my best guess.

Don’t gamble your children education. Not worth taking the risk.

Move in if you can. Notify the tenant your intentions. 2 years is sufficient.
Tenancy agreement normal is 1 + 1 year.

That’s why 2 years is the allowance period.

Correct me if i am wrong.

        Twins:

Dizzyguy, r u responding to my post?

Just to clarify that she has used an address of an existing property, ie TOPed and rented out to someone else. MOE does random checks only and highly likely would never find out!!
Jut hope the tenant do not have children applying for the same school in subsequent years.

          I need to offload...

I know of someone who has applied for a popular school under Phase 2C and within 1km, using the address of her apartment that is currently being rented out. This school will definitely ballot within 1km!!

What's worse is she has no intention to move in there but rather is looking for another place nearby to the school but it may not be within 1km after all!!

What will you do if you knew of such cases? I'm sure this is not the first, nor last. 😐

Actually, my impression is that many ppl are probably doing such things (buy a place within 1km of good school and rent it out). Then they use the address for P1 registration eg. they get a tenant with no kids so not likely to register.

I believe alot of people got away with that too unless there is a whistle blower. Personally, i feel that MOE has not come across hard enough on these people (who deprive other genuine case a chance in the school) so people are not really "worried’ that it will happen to them and would take the risk.

Just to add, I equate this with the childseat and compulsory safety belt ruling in Spore. When the TP enforce it strictly few yrs back, everyone rushed to buy childseats and made sure everyone in the car is belted up.

With less emphasis/ "actions by TP" these day, don’t we see young children sitting on the adult’s lap in the front seat and not belted up??? Or the taxi driver will no longer remind you to belt up like they do initially.
