Hi RSS, r2010 and Paddy Field,

DS applied through sports domain so the process is different from the GEP. He did his interview last Sat. He thinks he did ok but was told that they have overwhelming response for DSA sports this year. Was told to work hard as the teacher mentioned that he could get in through own merit, i.e. PSLE. Looks like the chance is very remote.
What about the sports trial for that particular sports ?
If he impressed them the chance should be good.

            Paddy Field:
Just had a bad experience with DHS.

I had yet to submit my DS application as I was not sure whether we need to submit the IRS report as I read from rosyth school that DHS wants the report. Furthermore, My DS' IRS project was selected for exhibition, but the school gave me only 1 copy of the final report, which he may need to bring for interview as part of his personal portfolio.

So I called DHS to find out so I can go bind another set if they want it. But the person in charge was so rude. With a frustrated tone, she kept saying she does not know what IRS is ... what I m talking about.

With such rude staff, I'm skeptical over the kind of students they'll produce.

It was unlike HCI who answered my queries politely and ensure that my doubts are clarified.
So far, I send email to <[email protected]> ... always get reply within the day, even if I send at night, I get reply within the night(*gasp*).

We also had a bad encounter with DHS office staff. We had wanted to submit the documents required for DSA and our son has put them nicely into a clear holder file. The staff looked annoyed and told us with a not so nice tone to remove all contents from the file as they did not want the file. We politely explained to her that the contents were quite thick and we did not have any binder clips or so with us to clip them together. She then answered in a cold tone that she will just staple them together. Hubby and I had no choice but to remove them page by page and watch in dismal as she tried to staple them together and put it in a box. We were very sure that the staple will fall off. After that bad encounter with the staff, we left wondering if we really want our son to be in that school.

We did not have problem submitting our son's portfolio with other schools.
*die* I wonder how black the staff's face is bc ours was delivered via Mr Singpost since I was too lazy to drive over there again. And ours was in a clear folder too. *hehe*

Just called NUSH. Selection test divided into 2 sections with 1.5 hr each for each section. MCQs and structured questions (for math according to people on the NUSH thread).

To answer all using 2B pencils.
The office people can’t tell me how many questions will there be.

There is no trial for the sports that he is applying to. Only interview.

That's why I was grumbling to hubby what if we had sent it over by post. We decided to hand in the portfolio there and then because we did not want to drive over there again given the bad encounter we had.

My dd just received news for RGS GAT. Anyone know what type of questions, format and duration of the test? :scared:
