It's about time something is done every morn...as cars jam all the way to main road.
Huh? ban parents frm driving to sch? Only sch bus or walk to sch allowed?
Everywhere is the same. Even neighbourhood schs like Bt Panjang Pri Sch /Beacon Pri Sch hv pte cars taking up one lane. -

Not banning parents from driving to school but to alight kids between Blk 6 & 7 instead. -

Solution suggested by MP only helps for dropping off. Does not work for picking up kids as parents have to park there and wait for school to finish. For more information,

Agree. Dropping off is not an issue at all. It's the picking up that is.

Imagine parents who are drivers having to wait at back gate to pick up kids from P3-6. That's a real test. Which is why I feel that MP should check out the situation from 1145-2pm. -

Quick to respond and work .... Bravo
Morning traffic will still be heavier because all kids go to school at the same time but not all kids leave the school at the same time due to CCA, classes, etc. In addition, some resident leaves for work during this morning hours as well, this adds on to the traffic conjestions.
So if the proposal work for morning it should for afternoon as well. -

Think the suggested short term solution is only moving the prob somewhere else. The original HDB planning team shld not hv provided only one exit point.
When the shell petrol station outside the sch was closed for some time last year, I thought someone finally will be providing a long lasting solution to the traffic prob.
There was a similar discussion abt parents driving children to sch n hogging the road last year (think it was SCGS). Some felt that it boiled down to parents' pampering the children.
Seriously, I think the best solution is to discourage driving the children to sch, esp for those who already live nearby or there are sch bus services serving where the pupils live. -

It was a surprise to see the senior staff of Pei Hwa out at work on the GROUND at 7am. -
