2009 P1 Registration Exercise for 2010 In-Take

As at 10+am this morning, there are already 65 applicants who live within 1km to SCGS. There are still parents coming in to register. If more parents within 1km register since 10+am, the chance now of getting ballot out may be more than 1 out of 5! We are the one with no alternative backup school and we will fight for it. Hope those with backup schools be more sensible because there is no point in some of us ended in the most undesirable schools (lose-lose situation). :stupid:

i have this fren ‘die die’ registered at st hilda’s becoz she told me ‘no more good schools’ around her area… so she want to try even chances slim

Updates of Schools (Bt Merah & RV)
RMPS = 1Km balloting only.
ZDPS = 1-2 Km balloting.
RVPS = More than 2Km no chance. -
Hong Wen confirmed will have balloting for < 1km.

Just look at last year \"2008 P1 Registration Exercise for 2009 In-Take\", it was only 8 pages.

These are parents who didn't really spare a thought for their kids. They dream of getting their kids into the best schools (even when they have alternative reasonably good schools which their kid has 100% chance of gaining entry). However, they don't even think and consider what if their kids end up in one of the worst schools far away from their homes and they need to spend 2 hours or more round trip to get to school and back (since they know the chance is slim). I would think that any school with no vacancies in Phase 2C Supplementary are considered good enough schools. If the kid didn't get a place in Phase 2C, then for sure all schools with vacancies left in Phase 2C Supplementary are all the lousy schools.

This explains why the chance of getting into SCGS from 100% to ~80% now for kids staying within 1km.........

Just curious. Tenancy agreement is usually sign for 2 years. What happens if you shift after 2 years. Then the subsequent tenant also used the same address for registration??? Wonder how they are gg to track.

I don't think the school does the checking or do they? Guess most likely one has to inform either MOE if they notice this. correct me if I am wrong
