Myanmar maids

I buy separate type of rice for them to eat. If not cannot tahan the price. We buy 5 kg of rice every 12 days now. Used to be 10 days when maid came. Thats for 3 adults including the maid.... YanYan ... All the mynmars that I hv come across eat rice more than a construction worker, kind of scary. Yours is a unique case, they all love rice, no matter how small they are, their stomachs can stretch larger than 3 stomachs put together. my current maid used to eat raw garlic mix with salt wth her rice n my previous with chilli n rice.
As for their bra, why dont u put it under the fan to dry, If she washes her bra daily it will be ready by the next day. They have this inner traditional garment, Its normally cotton and made by someone in the village, if u really consider buying her bra, better just start with one piece, she may just keep it and not use it. Yr maid just started, why dont u give it a week or two before u start buying

Yep..I have already done a timetable for her...For 1st two days..I didnt rush her coz i let her familiarise with the stuff 1st.. Guess i will give her a week or two to get used and will ask her to speed up. One thing is she is slow but she really scrub every corner..I haven see my toilet so clean already..haha.. anw her main job is to do hsework..so will monitor and rush her if need to..yanyan:
And yes.. they really very slow.. Need to have loads of patience.. She clean 1 toilet, sweep & mop a4 rm flat already took her 3hrs!
I think U need to show her how to speed up by demonstrating or she will be doing it her way. Give her a time table with the time stated. You quote while she write it down herself.
BTW hows her english and her work attitude?
Her eng is poor..i gave her a eng-burmese dictionary and ask her to study..say i will test her in a week or two (i juz scare her nia).. Her work attitude so far for past 3 days ok..ask her to clean wat..she will do with no change in face / talk back.
Oh for timetable..i didnt ask her follow 1st..coz she 2 days into the job then i need to travel..so end of 2nd day..i sent her packing to my mum hse for more training on hsework..haha... but when i call my mum..she say she's ok except slow lo..but ok la..slowly do..
Ya her appetite really small (not sure if she's not familarise with us)..breakfast eat only 1 slice of bread..lunch/dinner small plate of rice..teabreak (3pm) also 1 slice of bread...let's monitor and see if her appetite will increase with time. Oh for her rice..she hardly touch any other dishes..i give her some veg/meat & soup..she eat more rice than those veg..only take whiny bit..mix and eat...to me macham eat plain rice... -
Oh yes, for the bra…i wanna buy few more coz need her to change…so that she got no excuse not to change. Coz when she 2nd day into the job, i need her to pack 3 days of clothings to my mum hse (as i need to travel)…so i ask her how she change when she bath 3 times and she got only 4 bras… she juz gave me the sheepish look…
so when i back in sg…will brg her to buy…my mum say brg her buy those bras (that we used to wear when in pri sch during start of puberty)…doubt she know how to wear our type of bras…
as for tees…yes gave her some tees and i bought her some shorts…so she got more clothes to change lo… -
Seems like mine wasn't the only ones with all that pride. Once we ate lobster noodles at a chinese restuarant and she (my no.4 Burmese maid) was given a share. She said that our Singapore lobster not sweet not like the ones she eats back home, \"so sweet and nice\"! She has eaten it many times! Then when she suddenly didn't want to work, she said she was going back to be a BOSS!

I didn’t know they have so much pride. So much so that my maid will not say ‘thank you’ or ‘sorry’ ever.
It feels really horrible when you buy them a nice piece of cake, and they just take it from you, like you owe it to them. -
Haha! In the begining, Mine also don’t say sorry when commited mistake. I scold her (say she has no manners) and make her say sorry then she can do other things. If not, I just stand there and look at her until she say sorry. Now she very expert already, whenever make mistake, 1st thing she say is sorry.

Peapot, I think these days can never find maids who are totally obedient and never show black face or talk back at the employer. Those are maids of yesteryears...today's new generation of maids are much more demanding, aggressive and fussy.
That's why I've decided to go maidless once my current maid finishes her contract.peapot:
yanyan, just bring them along when you're buying the inner garments. Ask them to choose then you won't go wrong. Yes, burmese maids can be quite challenging but it still depends on luck. There are some burmese maids who are very obedient and will not dare raise their voice at you or gives a black face. So far I haven't met any but I m sure there are.

OMG…is she that young? her passport / wp / agent all say she born in 1985…
