Wah...a bit too chim for me (esp I m pretty sotong)...I have copy the following from MOE website:

The EESIS are awarded up to the top one-third of the total number of Secondary One pupils admitted to all Independent Schools (IS), based on their PSLE results.

The EESIS is also awarded to P6 GEP pupils who are Singapore Citizens and who

meet the P6 GEP promotion criteria, and
are enrolled in the IP in an Independent School at S1.

...when they say \"are enrolled in the IP\" means 6 yrs leading to 'A' lvl right?

      .....so confusing 😛

IP is 6 years, correct. But if you're an ex-GEP student who's opted for MGS secondary, you'll get EESIS if you're in the SBC programme because that's their SBGE programme. So it doesn't have to be IP (ie 6 years). Unless MOE's changed their criteria starting this year with all these new schools offering IP.

btw, IP means Integrated Programme so can lead up to A levels or IB.

GEP students get the same thing - EESIS. It's not a separate grant nor does it have a different name. 😄

During the talk by GE department to P6 parents they mention something like if the child decides to continue and eligible for SBGE, then there is some grant. If the child does not want to continue with GE but eligible for EESIS, then can get EESIS.

It was never mentioned about PSLE score of 260 and above to qualify for the grant.

Maybe it's EESIS after all but they have different criteria for GE students ?

Yes, it's EESIS but different criteria for GEP vs mainstream. GEP students will be given EESIS provided they meet the promotion criteria for GEP in secondary school and they enrol in an independent school offering an MOE-approved SBGE.

Non-Singaporean GEP students are not entitled to EESIS but will be offered some other grant whose name I can't recall now. Maybe that's what you're referring to?

All the criteria for EESIS and other scholarships you are entitled to will be spelt out in your PSLE results slip. 😄
